Man what the fuck happened to hip hop why all this shit that come out these days sound like fuckin Green day and Creed on some farmclub.com type shit.

Why don't hip hop sound like black people music no more, all this bullshit ass techno white folks soundin shit, really doe?

And yall niggas complaining bout the south not being lyrical, fuck that worry about why you can't tell the difference between hip hop and alternative rock.

At least the south actually sounds like African Americanism and street music, at least you can nod ya fuckin head to southern hip hop.

Every time I turn around rappers got songs with some unknown white person singin on the hook.

Stopped reading after this...................

This thread wasn't even started for the purpose of arguing, I made this shit for discussion, a discussion of when did this shit start, hip hop ain't sound like this in 07 or 08 if I can remember correctly, what was the song that started all this poppy ass lighter in the air, arena rock soundin shit, do niggas even use producers anymore, it sound like they using live rock bands, Jay and Kanye deserve an award for dropping "Otis" in this climate I hope WTT change some shit round dis bitch, but hey the songs that didn't use samples on that album sound like european rock music too.

I agree with the t/s. The new sound being pushed is NOT evolution of rap. Its the watering down of rap to make it more palatable for hipsters and 90's babies.

I can't imagine something like this being played in rotation with the pop garbage coming out now.

What i'm wondering is do these rappers really hear these beats and be like yo this shit hot, i'm bout to go in, or does the label send some dude to the studio and pick the beats for them so white teenagers will buy the music.

Label executives are wrecking the sound of hiphop, for sure.

I remember thinking 'Go DJ' by Lil Wayne was a bit of sell-out, commercial song when it came out. I just heard it recently on XM Radio when I was in my car and I can't believe how much more 'hardcore' it sounds now than the hiphop music in standard rotation (including Lil Wayne's new stuff).

Strange (oh yeah, fuck VEVO for fuckin' up the game, too)...

The label sends somebody.

Lupe had pre-selected beats and hooks he HAD to use for Lazers. He got to pick which ones he wanted and the rest go shopped around to people like BOB.

LOL That's some racist shit, I aint gotta go nowhere, Africans and African Americans(blacks) are two different people, we basically invented music ova here, and did invent soulful music, if it wasn't for us whether it be blacks from the south, east, west, north, or mid-west(fuck all these hip hop divisions, at the end of the day we all brothers and sisters) american music would still sound like this.

Sad part is, all yall niggas complaining about hip hop changing don't even go out and buy records, go to shows, none of that. Yall talk about white people this, white people that, when they're the ones who support hip hop more than we do, whether you think it's real or not. And this has been going on for a long time. While we were complaining that Dre, Hammer and Snoop were fuckin up hip hop in the 90s, them white folks were buying the records, keeping the genre mainstream. And The Chronic was as "black" as it got musically. Who here bought Rakims last album? Who here even listened to it? There's like 5 10+ page threads on Lil Wayne, but crickets when Pharoahe Monch drops. SMH.

That's something I realized while making this thread, when the south really started to take ova around that time east coast dudes complained about how this ain't hip hop, but it was, thats just how most southern hip hop sounded even since the 80's we make party music, not even really party music, we just sound different, we are party people, yall jus wasn't used to being bombarded with our sound, thats hip hop to us, niggas got to realize its more than one type of hip hop just like its more than one style of rock music, but this new hip hop aint hip hop, its rapping over rock pop beats, it's not an African American sound, but now I think niggas bout to start realizing that shit was hip hop, the shit these rappers doin now though, No.

And people forget that one of the first superproducers and hip hop label owners was a white guy (Rubin). People also forgot that Run DMC made a song (a cover, at that) with these guys

Not exactlly racist I mean white people have their hands in everthing we we do here. Rap & Soul music sheads light on the injustices we have but they don't care because they in power. They make the most $ off of it and it holds people back by making dealers & thugs idols. In Africa they have plenty of Euros messing up their culture it is not as bad as it is here. When I hear music I don't see color. I hear a persons struggle or passion ect....
