How is YM selling 250k terrible? A flop is only when you're expected to sell a whole lot and you don't. I don't think anyone expected that YM album to be a huge seller. It sold what it was expected to sell.

And the artists you listed as selling platinum this era are all dudes and one group, with established fan bases and a sense of veteran status in the game. Nicki is a new artist and solo female rappers typically have a harder time selling. That's a fact.

If Nicki tops out at around 300k-400k, that will be impressive...considering she's not only a new artist, but a female rapper at that.
