i don't like whey protein so i do a lot of peanut butter, bread, pasta, chicken and red meat. it's going a little better, but i think it'll be hard for me until my metabolism slows down some

For 3-4 bucks a day that'll get you all the protein you need. If you do it for a month you will gain at least 10 lbs guaranteed.
