James Earl Jones did his thing though.

It's crazy how different the audiences are..the audience in 1987 understood the gravity of the scene...the audience in 2010 apparently thought it was comedic...says a lot about folk these days...

Etherous.

GF pulled a guilt trip on me, she wants to see it with me and she's out of town. So now I gotta wait until the weekend to see this...

go see on ur own the first time then go w her to take a nice nap...problem solved

Watched it last night & it honestly wasn't what I was expecting. I was super hyped to see it, but found it pretty boring. The film began going downhill when Denzel started doing his wife dirty. It was just a really depressing movie

F-cked up how he did his son

Also Denzel's character reminds me of Uncle Ruckus's father. Dude blamed the man on every damn thing.

Saw it 2nite.

Its a very well acted movie but boring at same time.

The entire 2hr film takes place in their backyard.

Budget musta been cheap as hell. Nothing i needa see twice

Denzel deserves a best actor nod not directing tho

Viola not so much. She had like 1 big dramatic scene when the snot was runnin in her mouth but other than that just played the backround

How the hell this movie cost $25million to make?

I would assume most time period pieces like this cost more than a regular movie because of set design and costumes.

Did u see the movie? The entire film is is the backyard or the kitchen right next to the yard.

There is one scene (the opening scene) when they dress up a city block to look old style but other than that that is all. They literally had only 1 set to design.

Birth of a Nation was a period piece with battle scenes and was made on 8mil
