My personal style;
Fitted jeans, stay away from a lotta graphics or patterns on them so they are timeless
Loafers or similar casual footwear for running around town and nice events
Solid polos with small simple or no logos at all
Light button ups for all occasions, I live cuffin sleeves, but i avoid the shirts with the button for that purpose
Linen pants for summer evenings
Graphic Tees are straight so long as they aint like Ed Hardy, they are too loud and usually can't carry over longer than the season you bought em in
Cargo shorts
Sneakers that compliment your outfit without being the center of it
