If LL wasn't a legend he would be like Ja then. Can got him but he flushed his career in the process

I agree. It was funny hearing radio stations in NY, VA and SC trying to "blackball" Canabis after LL got ate. One had the audacity to say LL won of the strength of seniority. Bis got in that ass and Imma LL fan too.

With the recent Cole episode, this thread came to mind. Black balled or not, Canibus got LL and everyone in Hip Hop knows it deep down even if they don't want to admit it.

Several of lines Canibus got LL. Like NaS did with "Ether" and Pac did with "Hit em up", Canibus got personal and went at LL flaws. What's crazy is I would never cosign a Rookie going at a Legend in the game but the way LL handled the whole 4,3,2,1 situation was really arrogant and Canibus felt he needed to defend himself. Looking back he probably should of just let LL be mad but at that time Canibus was ripping through every callabo he was on. It's sad looking at his career, anyone who was old enough to see Canibus up rising in the last 90's knows, this cat was not to be f*cked wit on a track. That's why I laughed when Eminem came out and everyone said everyone was scared to get on a track with him, that was Caniibus 3 years before and I still believe Canibus is better than Em. He's not a better artist but he's a better lyricist. I love NaS, but even NaS was a little scared to get on "Desperado's" as he cut out his verse from the album version but his verse was still hard:

It's crazy cause it's been 12 years since the release of "2nd Round K.O" and just like back then and I'm still saying today. Canibus boided LL with easily one of the greatest disses of all time. It wouldn't be until years later that LL thank Canibus for inspriation in one of his albums. Everybody gave the victory to LL cause of political reasons, "Can-I-Bus, Jack The Ripper" was dope but LL screaming wasn't lyrical. He had a few funny lines in it but it was to long and it comes off more like a rant now when you listen to it. Canibus diss was very hard, he hit LL so hard in so many different areas. The beat was so Epic. The Operatic voices and pounding bassline. The Video is even better as one of the GOATS himself, MIKE TYSON trains Canibus for battle against LL. At the end of the Day, LL F*cked up Canibus career cause his Legendary status gave him the win by defult since Canibus was just an up and coming rapper. But History is always the final judge and there is no way that "2nd round K.O." did bodied LL. It didn't end his career but he damn sure penetrated LL battle history with this diss.

[Mike Tyson]

Hey Mike Tyson here speakin with the Canibus man over here

Yo Canibus your main objective out here is to do nuttin but

eat eat eat eat MC's, for lunch, breakfast

Hey man they been playin me all my life man

You know I won a title a couple a times did right

No but they can't hurt us man

We gonna do it, get up in this ring man, put on these gloves

Let me show you how to handle this li'l nigga

[Verse One - Canibus]

Yo I'ma let the world know the truth!

You don't want me to shine

You studied my rhyme, then you laced your vocals after mine

That's a bitch move, somethin that a homo rapper would do

So when you say that you platinum, you only droppin clues

I studied your background, read the book that you wrote

Researched the footnotes, 'bout how you used to sniff coke

Frontin like a drug free role model, you disgust me

I know bitches that seen you smoke weed recently

You walk around showin off your body cause it sells

Plus to avoid the fact that you ain't got skills

Mad at me cause I kick that shit real niggas feel

While 99% of your fans wear high heels

>From Ice-T to Kool Moe Dee to Jay-Z

Now you wanna fuck with me? You must be crazy!

You drippin with wack juice, and you can't get it off

You better be prepared to finish what you start, nigga!

[Referee] - (Canibus in parentheses)

Hey hey hey hey, you just hold it right there

(Yo, get off me man)

We got an illegal low blow on the fighter in the blue trunks

(Yo, yo get the fuck off me man)

If I see one more of those, you're outta here brotha

(Yo get out my way man, yo he started this shit)

You understand? (Fuck you!)

You'll be disqualified (I'll bite that nigga again!)

Stop bein a bitch (Get the fuck off me man!)

We came to see a fight

[Mike Tyson]

Yo Canibus man you gotta hit harder than that man

You don't want no bitch ass niggaz hangin out wit me man

We're warriors man, when we go into battle

we come out, or don't come out at all!

[Verse Two - Canibus]

Yo, you better give me the respect that I deserve or I'ma take it by force

Blast you with a 45 colt, make you summersault

Shock you with a couple hundred thousand volt thunderbolts

Before you wanted a war, now you wanna talk

It's about who strikes the hardest not who strikes first

That's why I laugh when I hear that wack ass verse

That shit was the worse, rhyme I ever heard in my life

Cause the greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th

God bless his soul rest in peace kid

It's because of him now at least I know What Beef is

It's not what I would call this, see this is something different

A faggot nigga trying to make a living off of dissing

Somebody that he's got to know is better than him

but he's feelin himself, cause he got more cheddar than him

Well let me tell you something, you might got more cash than me

But you ain't got the skills to eat a nigga's ass like me

And if you really want to show off, we can get it on

Live in front of the cameras on your own sitcom

I'll let you kick a verse, fuck it, I'll let you kick em all

I'd even wait for the studio audience to applaud [cheers]

Now watch me rip the tat from your arm

Kick you in the groin, stick you for your Vanguard award

In front of your mom your 1st, 2nd and 3rd born

Make your wife get on the horn call Minister Farrakhan

So he could persuade me to squash it, I'd saw naw he started it

He forgot what a hardcore artist is

A hardcore artist is a dangerous man, such as myself

trained to run 20 miles in soft sand

On or off land, programmed to kick hundreds of bars off hand

from a lost and forgotten land, you done did it man

You done spitted some wack shittit

And probably thought that because it's been a minute I'd forget it?

Fuck that! 'Cause like Common and Cube I see The Bitch In You

and I'ma make the world see it too, motherfucker!

And let me just say one thing, I'm am not giving Canibus a pass for his production and his LP's after. He catalog did not live up, even as a Canibus fan I will not deny that. His song making ability wasn't that strong. He's always been a super lyricist but it takes more than great lyrics to make a great song. With that said, the fact that Canibus has released over 12 LP's basically independently after being Black Balled by an Industry Legend says a lot. Canibus is one of the GOAT independent artist in Rap History. But his career will always be "What Could of Been". It's sad, God Bless the 90's, Canibus can always say he was one of the top Rookies in Rap History. Canibus really hurt Common on this. This what I mean guys, Canibus was going toe to toe with some of rap's best as a rookie. I blame Wyclef and his gutair beats for messing up Canibus Debut, it should of been more Epic:

[video=youtube;YKA7TIE9vdQ]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKA7TIE9vdQ[/video]

This was my ish my senior year in High School 98', Biggie and Jay used this same beat. Bis ripped it.

They root for the underdog

Unfortunately Jack the ripper strikes back was sooooooo vicious Canibus accused Em of ghost writing it. He lost as soon as he did that

Just accept it

And far as rap artist LL x10 > CAN I BUS

ive never in my life heard anyone say that canibus didnt beat ll in this beef.

Most Hip Hop Heads I know say LL lost and that Canibus is his only "L" in a battle. But I've talked to people that still defend LL and talk about how Canibus never made a dope album and his career flopped afterwords, and how Wycelf disowned him. But I always counter that with, did you listen to the diss records. For Canibus to go at a Legend like LL and make a Classic Diss song in the process can't be overlooked. LL's legacy will always be tied to Canibus wither he likes it or not. LL finally "Almost" admitted Canibus got him when in his album "GOAT" he thanked Canibus for "Inspiration", translation "You got me nigga".

LL is a Legend, of course he's a better artist than Canibus, LL has atleast 2 Classic albums and countless Classic songs, before Canibus even dissed him he was a Living Legend, but it was that Legend that had a rookie unknown Canibus featured on one of his main singles, so even LL knew Canibus was dope or he would of never had him on the track. It's like Pac having Biggie on songs when Big was rookie, Pac knew he was dope. But the fact is, Canibus got him, underdog or not. I'm talking about lyrics and the track. LL came back hard cause he's a battle rapper at heart, don't let the lady tracks fool you, LL proved he can get down with anyone. But Canibus was the 1st emcee to get at LL's soul.

Phone Call before the Beef, this was amazing to hear.

Idc about that. LL played chess with him. Like LL said in the diss track, write a verse and flip it. The response is always the easiest. He let Canibus dissed, took wat he said and flipped it back on him. Far as the record go, he even had a hook on the diss track. That was catchy too and the beat was better

When u accuse someone thats lyrically nice of ghost writing the diss that means you lost
