The people who are ignorant to what lyricism is will say LL won. The intelligent people and the average listener will say Canibus won...

People need to understand that humans in general can't agree on anything. If I post a picture of a green ball, and put up a poll asking, "What color is the green ball, a) blue, b) red c) green?", blue and red will actually get some percentage of the votes. It's just how it is.

I also find it funny that people are saying LL best bar was the one he stole from Canibus.... I mean, that strategy works in an off the dome, head to head battle, but when you actually have time to write, and you copy someone else's rhymes and change one or two words, it shows lack of creativity and talent....

It's a fact that LL's career did slightly decline after the beef. He just didn't move the units he used to from 85-99, LL moved mad units. From 2000-Present his career his been on the decline. I'm not saying that's all Canibus but obviously "2nd Round K.O." had it's affect on his career. Also anyone who was there during that time knows that in the streets, Canibus Won but in the press and mainstream media, of course they gave LL the victory. This wasn't a NaS/Jay situation or Big/Pac where both ppl had equal clout. Canibus was up and coming and LL at that point was a Living Legend in the game. His respect alone put him over Canibus. Anyone looking at all Diss records objectively can't honestly say LL won that battle. No matter what happen to Canibus career (which was mostly industry politics), it was clear he bodied LL.

Thats the life of a Hip Hop artist. That has nothing to do with Canibus, That's the change of the guard, a New era of Hip Hop. What can you say ? LL at that time didn't have to resort to 1990 and Mama Said all over again to remain relevant. I'm still trying to figure out how he bodied L though. I mean if you like Canibus' track more, so be it but killed LL, he still had hits ! He was still on Tour ? Niggas act like he was Ja-Rule or something.

In the context of the diss track, that bar didn't even reach my radar. I thought nothing of it except what he (Canibus) meant by it... you may got more money than me, but I rap better than you.

Obviously, seeing that one of the posters singled-out the bar stating that it was self-ether made it evident that he saw it as a no homo/pause moment, so I addressed the situation at hand.
