why do people steal copper wire? they made a joke about it on the simpsons one time and i never understood it. its worth money?

It's a nice come up if you take to the scrap yard. People would steal our telephone cable all the time. Niggas would climb a pole and cut a 50' pole span of cable and make a grip off it.

Copper cable and certain types of carburators are a nice come up in the scrap yard

lol....working construction a loooong time ago me and this white dude found a bunch of whole spools of wire....shit had the plastic on it tho......he was like "go open my car".....I do it and post up for a few mins....all of a sudden here this fool comes running with a wheel barrow full of them shits lmao......we rode out and went and burned all the plastic off in his dad's yard....came back from the scrap yard like:
