Didnt the caller say it was someone that matches Dorners description? So they werent 100% sure it was him. Maybe it was some random black dude walking to their cabin to borrow some sugar and they got spooked. Maybe he ran into the house to stop them because he knows them cops are going to shoot to kill at any black person. Thats when shit got real. haha
