Why niggas be making things out different that what they are? Them dudes was not hating on Waka Flocka. They were hating on what he said. On one side what Waka said may be true, on the other side, being that he's a rapper and that's supposedly his craft of course its going to be insulting to other rappers to hear him come out and say that he doesn't put any effort into making sure that craft is quality. If it's one thing about the Wu anybody who listens to them should know, they take Hip Hop seriously. So it shouldn't be a surprise that they are going to jump onto a comment that basically minimalizes the artform.

They also weren't hating on the South. Did ya'll miss the part where they backed up and made sure it was known that there are good artists from the South. They are hating on a certain subset of southern rappers that have no skill and just make bullshit rap for the money. We all know who they are talking about. They weren't saying that that kind of music shouldn't be made or that you can't enjoy it. They were just saying that it should be put in its place and people should know the difference between that and real Hip Hop.

See there you go misrepresenting shit. Meth did not say he gets angry at his kids for listening to southern music. He said he gets angry at his kids for listening to substanceless music. Unless you think all Southern Hip Hop falls into that category, you should probably stop passing off his comments in that manner.

And Wu did start their own movement or did you miss the whole decade of the 90s.

And that's understandable, but the problem is....they never stopped thinking like this, even though they been running the game for 7 complete years now. They don't have to do that anymore. It's almost like they're scared that if they stop supporting EVERY SINGLE southern rapper with a radio hit, they'll lose the grip they have on the game.

But what they don't realize is that they are ALREADY losing their grip on the game, they have been for the last year or 2 and the reason they are is BECAUSE OF these wack ass rappers they support. The only reason they're still on top is because the record labels are so fucking out of touch with hip hop fans that they don't realize that a significant factor in the plummeting album sales is the fact that hip hop fans are sick of wack ass rappers who rely on beats and hooks. "O Lets Do It" gets the CLUB hype, but if that nigga dropped an album next week....that shit would flop because most of the country doesn't want to hear an album full of wack ass lyrics anymore. Why do you think XXL's Top 10 Freshman list is full of rappers who are AT LEAST above average lyrically? (J. Cole, Nipsey Hussle, Pill, Fashawn, Donnis, Wiz Khalifa, etc...) These are the rappers who have a large buzz NATIONWIDE. Guys like Gucci, OJ, and Wacka Flocka are really only poppin in the south...and the reason is because of the heavy support you guys give them. If something is hot in the south, they industry shoves it down the rest of our throats. Most of us ain't really feeling that wack ass shit

If they south wants to stick around, they are gonna have to step their lyrics up a little bit, and southern fans are going to have to start supporting their talnted artists. Dudes like J. Cole, Jay Electronica, B.O.B, Donnis, and Pill

And u know what, most of the statement i highlighted in the bold might very well be ture. now if that truly is the case, then who are the hip hop fans really supporting?? it certainly isnt the skillfull, lyrical rappers. because collectively they are doing worse in sales than the club rappers. seriously though. im posing this question to anybody who might have an answer or even a theory on the matter

I'm not sure what you're talking about here. Members of the Wu came out with Blackout 2, Chamber Music, OB4CL2, and the Wizard of Poetry, so they haven't stopped making music. Not to mention they have been touring pretty hard, and their tours and shows are always financial successes because they have a strong fanbase even if they aren't tearing up the charts. Contrary to what you believe not everyone who criticizes the simple rap of today is doing so because they are hating or jealous. I mean Rae dropped what is heralded as one of if not the best rap albums of 2009. He has no reason to hate on Wacka Flaka.

Young hip hop fans are lazy when it comes to finding music....if it's not on the radio, they usually don't hear it or don't want to give it a listen because they have that silly ass "if it's not on the radio, it's because it's not good enough to be on the radio" mindset. The reason the skillful rappers are doing worse in sales than the club rappers is because they have very little to no promotion, and virtually no airplay, which means no young listeners or fans....and those are the ones who drive the market nowadays. Those of us who know about good music and support it, unfortuantely, are the minority.

That's because the clubs dictate to the radio what's hot, so more than likely the club rappers are gonna get more shine since that is type of music they make regardless, so its then up to the radio programmers to make their playlist as diverse as possible.
