But ppl usually use the slang where they are from.... he Doesnt... and i lived in NC and they are some of the countriest ppl i ever met....

Niggas in Fayetteville, North Carolina are not really country. If anything, they usually have West Indian roots. Don't generalize.

no...first time I heard J. Cole I knew he was southern...didn't know from where but I could tell he was from the south...everybody down south doesn't have some extra thick southern drawl

Yes the Hell they are my brothers Baby Mother lived in Fayetteville for 9 years and she was country as hell and so was my nephew and so was everybody else when i came there to visit.....

and you met everybody in Fayetteville? I've lived in DC my entire life and I get told sometimes I don't sound like I'm from around here because I got out of the habit of stretching out the "r's" in my words so my accent has minimized somewhat...it happens when you leave and go other places and given that J. Cole lived in NY for 4 years minimum at school his accent probably adjusted over time

I remember the same thing happening to groups like Ghetto Boys, Goodie, and Outkast. I'll also throw in D.O.C in for good measure. You may have been able to tell that they weren't from NY but they sure embodied Hip Hop from the east coast. So, cats from up north were able to embrace them.

Well then your country tolerance is low. From there, up to D.C. them niggas is like northerners compared to us.

Nope but i heard majority of them aint like they are quiet ppl..... I can see if we was talking about VA where i know everybody or not even majority is country.... But NC is country and when i lived there i was bouncing around all over that state and like i said SOME speak clearly but majority of them dont well the Majority i met......

the people you met don't speak for an entire city/region so unless you have spoken to every person in Fayetteville then what you're saying has no ground to stand on...and there's some places I can show you in Northern VA and southern MD and Eastern MD that will have you thinking you're about three seconds away from hearing somebody yell out "Massa comin" so you might want to broaden your horizons on what country is and realize that rural and country are 2 very different things...there's alot of RURAL area in the south because there's more space but when you're in the real country you have no doubt about it...there's no guessing that shit...like you said with Delaware...one of my boys from college is from Delaware and he can sound country as hell but because he grew up in Delaware, rural area, but he's a very up north type of person

tha south didn't sleep on those type of artist. they just didn't get any exposure because radio dj's broke artist commin outta tha south and tha only place they looked for new artist was in tha club. that was mainly tha only way to get on.

pretty much..and niggas like 8 ball mjg and three 6 mafia have done great for themselves strictly in the south...

its a reason y their considered legends and not ying yang twins...

Well, the South slept on literate artist such as Little Brother, Cunninlynguist, Eightball & MGJ even, J-Cole and pretty much any artist that didn't make music about a dance. If it didn't sound like something that come from the cheering section of a southern football game then it wont get anywhere in the south. If the artist use too many syllables in one word, or can define one word 3+ different ways or just make a coherent sentence then it will be slept on. Lets just be honest.. It's gotta be on a Ying Yang Twin/Lil Jon or Wacka/Gucci/OJ da Juice Man type of style to get the common southerners attention. (Not southerners in a hip hop forum)

if i had J-Cole & Little Brother beatin out of my whip in most places in the south, I will be looked at as if I was in a white Klan robe. And they gone ask me if I got one of the artist that I named or something similar. The women wanna get low and shake they ass and the niggaz want something in a language and sentence structure that they can understand and relate too.

truth.com these niggas dnt wanna hear that shit n ppl on here keep acting stupid saying stuff like "have u surveyed every southern rap fan" n dumb shit like that cuz they know the average southern nigga dnt fuk wit it... and to the du that asked yes im currently in miami and other than some college kids niggas from county line rd to overtown aint fuckin wit jcole or jay elec or any nigga who dnt "bump in the whip"

*exits thread again*

It doesn't matter which reason any rapper is from because in the end hip-hop will still lose, so stay occupied with which region rappers are from then. Don't buy there album if there not from your hood, but don't complain when the bullshit represents your culture

Fuck does any of that have to do with you quoting, then bolding that dumbass comment about what the common southerner supports? Every rapper I named is way more respected and well known to southern heads than Ying Yang, Lil John, Gucci, and OJ. And even then, ain't nothin wrong with those 4 artists either. Shut the fuck up wit that nonsense. I've heard all the artists the threadstarter named on the radio and in the streets from NC to Florida. So how you gon say what the common southerner supports and gives their attention to?

and whats funny is artists like "lil b" shows sell out in their cities. if i were to use that as a measuring stick for what niggas in ny listen to i guess i would be generalizing. but so much for calling shit wack when u know it is
