y'all really want it to be east v south...

its not that serious...

but stop acting like Jay E doesn't have an eastcoast style....

eastcoast style includes, but is not limited to more conscious rhymes and dropping five percent mathematics....

and I live in NC, stop acting like Cole gets mad love here....

its the NY college kids bumping his shit...

it's college kids in general bumping J. Cole not just NY college kids..shit the first person I heard about J. Cole from was last summer from one of my homegirls who lives in NC who sent me The Warmup mixtape...and out of all those artists mentioned J. Cole has the biggest buzz out of all them and they're all relatively new artists to rap fans in general so to say the south doesn't fuck with them as if they've been putting out albums for years ain't true...alot of people in general are just finding out about J. Cole, Chy, Pill, KRIT, etc.

I LIVE IN SC, he was on the radio this morning...but the Carolinas as a whole don't support our artists the way we should, except for in a few cities. That goes for any of em, from backpackers to trappers.

he doesn't get alot of radio play in DC either...that doesn't mean the entire region of DC doesn't fuck with him...it just means he doesn't get alot of radio play...

If you are a fan of hip-hop it doesn't matter where there from or how much the sell. With that being said Eastcoast hip-hop heads have the typical white-male view of how america should be. Just let the shit go & enjoy it regardless of who presents it or where there from.

I think East Coast rappers should be proud of the southern rappers who have more of an intellectual appeal about "how" and "what" they rap about. East Coast rappers as a whole have really fallen short in that spectrum. Southern rappers are showing MORE diversity of content, style, and flow from whats been the norm from that region over the past 10 - 12 years.

You can't say southern rappers wasn't influenced by east rappers and Mid West rappers aswell. All and all, East coast rap had fallen off the map except for a couple of heads. (Jay, Nas, Clipse, etc...)

Funny thing is, majority of these sothern rappers are STILL on the EAST COAST! Truthfully, it doesnt matter where they are from. Good HipHop is good HipHop. I squad up with Rock City and they from the V.I.

If they drop albums that would be dope. However, if history has taught us anything it's that one should not sleep on the East. It's funny, because the east mostly dominated hip hop in the 80s and if we are talking sells then the east fell off in the late 90s. Other regions have always had shine (E.G. the west in the early to mid 90s & the south in the mid to late 90s.), however, it was during those times when Deathrow, Cash Money, No Limit, etc were running the game that East Coast artists were still pumping out classic material.

The South definitely has dope line-up but who in the south will outshine Young Money & Wayne? They can't even get ahead in their own area, hence the reason why most of those artists ran north to get fame. They are all skilled and I wish them much success, but don't act like the East is sleeping. Disregarding Jay & Nas as obvious contenders, the East has Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Fab, Lloyd Banks, Jada/The Lox, & even Saigon got a release date.

In conclusion, the East has a history of shining when they aren't in the spotlight.

*Dead* What the fuck are you talking about? Jada? The Lox? Joe Budden? STOP just STOP! I can see if we were in 97-00 but now? Jada had to go to a ATL DJ(Drama) to put out that garbage ass Champ Is Here. Lox MIA. Joe "Shouldve Ducked" Button is a one hit wonder. To be relevant nowday YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE SOUTH. Ask Fat Joe. The south has more than Wayne so cut the crap just turn on your radio. Matter of fact you in DC with me so WKYS it up. And dont get it twisted back in the day I showed love to the east Wu Tang was my shit and I am from Memphis. So keep it 100 east coast cant do a fucking thing if the South is not involved in some way. Ask Fab and Nikki Minaj.

I'm just a fan of music and the only thing I notice is the seperation of emcees seem to have a negative effect on the game, takes away the balance
