I'm rollin with Duncan. The big man has always been the centerpiece of a team. With the exception of two championship teams that I can think of, no one has done it without an all star big man. Kobe was takin loses without Shaq and Gasol.

No championship. Plain and simple. I never said he wasn't a good player without a big man. He's one of the greatest. But we're talking about team impact. And a team's success is measured by wins and more specifically championships. History says unless you have Jordan or Bird on your team, you're not winning a title without a great big man. If I had to chose I'd draft Duncan.

When you look at everything for what it is: Kobe definitely had more impact on the leauge than Duncan, Will probably go down as the 2nd best player in NBA history, has 5 titles to Duncan's 4, was called the best player in the leauge for 5 to 6 years straight something that can't be said about Duncan, and his skills / impact over the last 3 to 4 years has been pretty much sustained, still to this day being mentioned with the likes of lebron and d wade, where Duncan has pretty much fell all the way off.

Duncan is great, an all time great, but only a fool, a hater, or somebody who will try to reach at straws as far as they can will put Duncan above Kobe. This comparison is a little short sighted, but it's like putting 50 Cent above Jay-z... 50 had a huge impact early, but the shit fizzled out.... Jay is still here... Kobe is still here...

Duncan is the most consistent player for the last 10 years. Won 50 plus games each season, hz stats hav remained consistent,he won 4 ships as the alpha dog and never failed to make playoffs. Kobe has never won a ship without an elite big in they prime but Duncan has won 4 without an elite guard eg wade,iverson,tmac. If he had either he woulda won 6.
