Because all these niggas can do is make joke bars about what they got. He has alway been nothing but a punchline rapper and got fame because a lot of southern rappers couldn't do that at his level. When he was about to drop I can't feel my face Jewels Santana was matching him bar for bar and everyone in NY considered Jewels as an average MC with charisma, not a lyricist.

It loses me when he inevitably veers off into super-syrupy FX-drenched R&B territory ofc, but I love the whole vibe and approach of the first 8 tracks + Used To. Boi-1da killed this shit....they sorta expanded on the 0 to 100 formula....demure menacing synthesizer riffs & creative drum programming.

Thank Me Later was a big disappointment to me....Take Care was one of those rap albums vastly overrated by white rock critics who get all easily wowed the moment a rapper rhymes about more than rims and cocaine....Nothing Was The Same is a straight R&B album that just so happens to have "The Language", "Started from the Bottom" and "Pound Cake" on there imho. "Too Late" feels like Drake's darkest and most rap heavy album to me. So yeah.

if you don't like it, ok fine, but miss me with that "new generation" bashing bullshit because there's tons of great music coming out right now for just about every type of hip-hop listener.
