Report: Drake Still In Cash Money Contract, ‘View From The 6′ Gets Him Out

One of the mysteries of the last week is what exactly Drake’s contract status is with Cash Money, and what effect his surprise album/mixtape If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late has on it.

The New York Post and their sources have weighed in on this. They say Drake has a five record deal with CMYM. Meaning that if If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late counts as an album — and it should — Drake would be a free agent after View From The 6, which should drop this year.

Sources said Drake likely has a standard five-album deal with the company, which would make “Views From the 6” his last,” the Post reports.

The headline of the article is “Drake eyes split with Cash Money Records.”

“Drake is probably frustrated,” a source told The Post. “He’s gotten to a point where he wants more.”

Nothing too groundbreaking here, although the five album vs. four album (which had been the rumor) detail is significant.

The substance and bars on this project is weak sorry but half these tracks the nigga aint talking about shit at all but his name is dake he reached that level in his career where he can get away with saying bullshit and people will eat it up for the moment. If anybody else made this mixtape album whatever you people would be calling this shit weak dont give drake a pass just because dont make excuses like these are throwaway tracks

Drake on the tail end of his run

His shit getting stale

Hate the nigga or not somebody at the tail end of their run doesn't sell this many copies of an album released with no promo at all. That's just being illogical to say that

Foresight my nigga

Curtis moved units too

If you calling it using "foresight" then you're still wrong because foresight is seeing into the future not the present...and in the present Drake isn't near the tail end of his run.

Bruh you're an idiot

Curtis was the last 50 album that really moved(I.e. Tail end)

Run- as in run at the top

If I'm telling you his run is coming on the exit, that's foresight! It's about to end

Bitch

Bru he jst won a Grammy and went gold in 5 days off a mix tape what u want him to do walk on water

I'M ME I DONT NEED TO MAKE SOME FAKE SHIT I'M A REALEST A FAN OF HIPHOP MUSIC FIRST AND FOREMOST SORRY I'M NOT A YES MAN THAT HAS TO LIKE A PROJECT JUST TO COMMENT ON IT. MAYBE IF YOU STOP NUT HUGGING DRAKE YOU WOULD REALIZE THAT.

Na ur opinion jst weak drakes been going strong for four yrs u have no cred to back up ur statement

like i stated before drake is in a space now where he can do whatever he wants and people will eat it up period. every artist goes through this phase at one point in time in their career. but this project is sub par at best. he can put out much better shit than this. i like when drake is actually on his shit this project his bars are weak and lacks substance he needs to go through some real shit because his lack of creativity is diminishing regardless of success he is having right now. i feel like people are running with this project because he's not singing every single song but just because his is rapping that doesnt mean his bars are memorable.

See that's the problem people expect him to have substance all the time I mean the guys already told his life story on his other albums now his filthy rich what else can he possibly rap abt? Hell even jcole and Lupe rap abt the same shit growing up,government, politics, how fckd up rap has become. I mean damn not every rapper has a life changing event to rap abt for every album or tape

so we listen to lyrics now for no substance lol lmao. well maybe its just me i didn't grow up in that era where lyrics don't have to mean shit sorry. if drake is the top dogg like he proclaims he has to show and prove every single time. and i'm not talking album sales because this is hiphop albums sales dont mean shit to real hiphop heads. drake life story was wack. why didnt he talked about getting slapped up by diddy. he talking about barretta and running up in offices which we all know he aint doing. its a lot of shit in the world to talk about he unfortunately was doing the lil wayne rambling shit on this project.

every rapper puts out a weak project. it happens.

don't make excuses for him because he's one of your favorites at the moment.

Lil Wayne been in the game for 12yrs what else can he rap abt

i never really was a fan of wayne personally. but thats just me i always felt he was the most overrated rapper in the history of rap. he just had a great work ethic due to his slave contract.

Issue I got is some songs sound similar to each other but the project is cool to me.

cs a lot of the songs sound too similar, I think thats why theres no real standouts. I still like the tape though.
