Yes,they do "some" good within the community, but ultimately this "pro-black conscious" thing is nothing more but a hustle and financial come up to many of these guys.

And the reason they beef so much bores down to "market share".

They all are rallying for the same (relative small) demographic which they know has limited funds to begin with.

In essence it's like dope boys fighting over a corner.

Yeah, they talk that "the black community NEEDS to come together to end white supremacy,shit.

But these guys have no interest in ending white supremacy,let alone seeing black people unity.

Umar was just trying to make peace between sa neter and seti he wanted the beef in the community to stop so he put forth a suggestion that maybe the older folks could mediate but seti was not down with that shit and got disrespectful. If you're an academic, you know that you have to show and prove. He literally refuses to do that with any claim he has made.

eh...

umar is alright when he is on topic by himself but he hates to be challenged and takes shit over board. the type of cat you fuck with to accomplish a goal when you know you're on 1 accord but don't fuck with otherwise.

i could care less about him calling himself a doctor...blah blah..i don't value the western education system enough to exalt it as a bench mark in my mind, its just a means to an end. One small issue I have with listening to B Watkins is he's constantly challenging the "white system" while exalting the white educational system like it's epitome of success. Never heard Umar rattle off any school names though and at least he's (supposedly) trying to change the system for kids....but anyway.

Ppl lose the focus when they try to elevate these guys to "christ"-like status caring about if they curse, if they get mad, yell, use the work "nigga", etc. At the end of the day it's just men airing out grievances as men talking shit, etc.

But with the above said, besides the blakmagik363/ugr platform, I've had to tune most of these "conscious" cats out in the last few months, un-subscribed from all their youtube channels, don't check for their information, etc. it's like these niggas are distracting themselves with intangibles instead of dealing with the real world. I don't even want that way of thinking influencing my own "concious-ness" and "energy" sub-consciously. I still listen to most of the old school info in my spare time though. They're turning something useful into soap opera reality show bullshit.
