This is a vast oversimplification of the haitian occupation of the dominican republic to begin with there were people in the repubic that wanted to unite with haiti and secondly many haitians thought that it was the only way to prevent and any further attempts by spain or the french to take back the whole island.

they only killed those who needed to be killed, there were alot of mulattos in haiti so the policy was not just kill the mulatoes
