exactly. X has to be one of the most electrifying, charismatic rappers of all-time and his beat selection is top notch. his impact alone when the game was going soft during the shiny suit era easily puts him in the top 10, no question about it.

I've been bumping a lot of X lately and I gotta say, very VERY few rappers have a catalogue as deep as X's first three or four albums. He went hard in the paint for a long time and didn't compromise his sound much at all. If people appreciate the lyrics and the deep emotion behind him, way more would say he's in top 10 status. Maybe X's realness is too much for some....

You're mad, Great Depression was fire... His first two album went plat in the same year, which no rapper has ever done...

You named 4 CLASSIC tunes off 'Flesh', not many albums have 4 actual hip hop classic songs on there... Plus you are not even naming 'No Love For Me', 'Dogs for life', 'We dont give a fck', 'The Omen', 'Heat' etc which solid tracks...

I swear, if DMX died right after And Then There Was X, he would be top 10 by default. people's judgment are clouded by how he "fell off" (even though he made 5 #1 albums, the only rapper to ever accomplish that). we all know about his impact in breaking down the doors in the shiny suit era. even Big L said he regained confidence in blowing up one day because X usher back that hardcore style.

and when it comes to live performances, X rocks like it no one. he'll give it to you live, not just in the studio.
