Does anyone get annoyed by how small these boxers are?

LOL at Cheap Seats peeps now wanting to run up on Floyd and your next WWE wrestler - please do it, and make sure you are getting filmed at the same time.

Haha, no thanks. When I made this I think it was because when heavyweights ran stuff, you were watching the baddest mother fucker on the planet. No one wanted to fuck with Tyson. No one knew anyone that wanted to fuck with Tyson. No one heard legends of a boxer from an African jungle that wanted to fuck with Tyson. But Floyd being small, combined with the emergence of MMA, makes him not give off that feeling of watching a true monster.

Yeah, but that's American Logic for you: we're conditioned to think big, loud shit is the best. It's funny you use Tyson as the point, though. He's 5'10" on a good day and fought damn near every fight at 220 or 225. He was a baby heavyweight throwing thunder.

He played the role of what everyone thought a heavyweight was supposed to be in a fight, though: great defense, shit talking, and backing it up. The problem with Floyd is that most fight fans are repressed mental midgets who live vicariously through fighters.

They want to say, "Fuck you! I'll kick your ass!" and then knock someone out. Not say, "I'll kick your ass!" then nimbly dodge around punching their victims in-between the victims own swings. If you've ever boxed or fought and had the game explained to you, watching Floyd fight should give you that monster vibe.

Count out 36 minutes. Now, imagine a man standing two or three feet off you that you can't hit yet is hitting you at will. For 36 minutes.

Im gonna side with the poster a bit. Yall r misisng the point. Floyd is 147 pounds. I am not the biggest guy in the world, and im 5'7 155. Now, yes, Floyd would put me to sleep lmao...but you cant just crown these nggas superman.

Lets say Floyd gets ino an altercation with, say, a college RB, who is 6'0, 225, in shape (pause). Because Floyd boxes he just gon whoop his ass? I dono. Maybe, but 75 lbs is 75 lbs, regardless of who u are. As someone said earlier, if the bigger dude somehow wrap u up...

This guy always been a dumb ass

this thread kinda reminds me of an old sohh thread in which a ross fan said Floyd body-shots would have no effect cause Rozay was fat.

It's not just American logic though. There are weight classes all over the world for that reason. I think Floyd even said he wasn't going to fight Manny because he thought he may get hurt because Manny seemed roided up. So he acknowledged power/size can make up for skill (to an extent of course) .

5' 10" 220 lbs is nothing to fuck with. Especially when it's all muscle. That's not a small dude. Floyd is much closer to a flyweight than 220. You're speaking about Floyds skill set, and I'm not trying to diminish that at all. But there's a reason flyweights don't get the same attention as larger fighters, and it isn't because they lack skill. It's because no one wants to see those small dudes fighting.

The baddest man on the earth pound for pound, just isn't as entertaining as the baddest man on the Earth. It's not disrespect...it's just how it is.

lol, i remember a few weeks ago nigga took a swing at me in a bar... that shit was like spider man/matrix in slow motion....dude was smaller than me too, and i've been out of the gym sparring for a good 2 years, and that shit was still ridiculously telegraphed......

i can only imagine how bad it looks if someone takes a swing on a pro who spars daily...

Nigga i miss heavyweight boxing, aint nobody shook of these dudes that are smaller than some of the bitches i done fucked, and shorter too.

WNBA teams can beat most dudes in basketball. Doesn't mean they're not boring to watch.

I still never hear people talking about featherweights. They're talented too right? So why don't people really watch them? Because they're so damn small! It's the same thing. I'm not saying Floyd wasn't nice, that he couldn't fuck me up, or that he isn't an all time great. I'm saying it's not as entertaining to watch for a casual boxing fan.
