freedom of thought is important in creating strong individuals but it is irresponsible not to indoctrinate your children

because if you don't someone else will however creating an ideological clone is not the answer. Someone who believes what you believe without thinking about it will never be fully grounded and faithful to your principles.

I was with you until the last part. Cults are an example that refute that

cult members stay loyal because they lack outside information. there is no competing ideas in a cult unlike growing children committed cultists are insulated from other thoughts
