Do you think 'poor' people deserve to be poor?

too me, being private and publicly educated. having a living situation where close residents speak various langues,, observe various religion, and celebrate their life cycle native to them. its a tough circumstance when none of their influence, has an effect on community for example

by the time your newborn reaches say 4, he/she/it should be speaking, latin/spanish, italian, english, & russian for example. in my building on my floor its russian, chineese,spanish,jewish,english american, italian, negro. at that age when a child understands language, have company... by the time that child hits middle, its know company, and teaches.

Nah Loca, you need to think bigger and not let some "system" be the excuse for everything.

There's kids in Africa who have no education, jobs and are extremely poor but the ideas they come up with are extraordinary. The things they can MAKE with what they have is amazing. They're inventing new things.

Point, ANYONE can do something. Situations do not matter.

Of course no one is completely powerless. But the choices that people make are always framed in a political and economic way and the level of equality that exists. The personal is extremely political and cannot be separated from systematic processes that affect peoples' daily lives.

And mafuckas need to stop using third world people and African children when they talk about inequality, as if somehow, they're cool with getting fucked over economically and politically, so we should think of poverty as an individual thing that they just 'accept'.

Tunisia, Bahrain, Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, and Guatemala all have history of resisting inequality and poverty, so it still doesn't suggest that people should adjust and that resistance isn't necessary.

so lets say, hypothetically speaking, u lost everything and ended up on the streets. what would u do about it?

cause the arguments always devolve into extremes

honestly I believe a society should be judged by how well it takes care of its most vulnerable citizens, so it's naive to broadly generalize a whole group as deserving to be poor.........as if others deserve to be rich SMH

but at the same time, I hate the liberal agenda of always making it someone else's fault other than your own if you don't have what others have

many people do have a victim mentality and would rather wait for someone else to save them from their own struggles

but at some point you've gotta snap out of that shit. if you know that there's a system set-up for you to fail, stop feeding into it

this is probably one of the main reasons immigrants succeed when they come here, for one, often they know what real poverty is, they're not gonna shy away from hardwork, and material things don't define who they are.

of course there should be resources in place to assist people in bettering their situations, but like with everything else you have to actually want help and seek it out. also take advantage of what you do have, like having a strong family (ie not birthing illegitimate children everywhere), and making sure you use what little advantages you do have (like getting an education) to get ahead

Crazy thing is, I consider myself financially responsible, and I work hard and make plans and the plans have to do with money which is security.

My plans are like, when I have this much income and I have this much saved for a rainy day I'm gonna get married and such.

To make these plans come to fruition, I grind like a fuck. Got no problems working 18 hours, ill work 7 days happily, don't need time for myself, long as I can spend enough time with my girl to make her happy I'm good.

I do all this cause I'm afraid of being poor. I really am. My biggest fear is to have a family and not being able to provide. So I bust my ass, continuing to achieve my goals.

Only problem is, past 5 years I been grinding, getting to new places, but when I loo kback, these 5 years have been a blur. I feel like I havent lived. Its cool but I'm grinding for what? To be worry free and to relax.

Then I look at a poor dude. Lives on welfare, does odd jobs for an extra 100 here and there, and as long as he can get with his fam/friends on Saturday and drink some beer he's happy. He's fulfilled

Here I am running around busting my ass grinding to be able to be worry free one day, planning for troubles that won't even be around for years, and i do it to be able to relax and live fulfilled, and then I look at this "poor" motherfucker who ain't got shit living the fulfilled life I'm working to live.

When I realize that I realize every person is made different and there is no right or wrong or rich and poor. You can be financially rich but full of worry or be financially poor but fulfilled and worry free.

So with that said, are the poor wrong for being poor? Are you better then the poor man for not being poor? These are just mental gymnastics that don't really mean shit. Better to waste your time worrying about what to do to fulfill yourself then worry about the rich being rich or poor being poor.
