Most of the people here criticising polygamy are outside looking in. If people involved (in this case women) are up for it, then it's all gravy.

Being it's illegal in the States have any of you aware there may be men who've succumbed to the monogamous lifestyle against their own personal wishes? Due to societal pressure?

If you're a one man, one woman type fella, more power to you however there's men out there who can't live with that and you gotta respect their chosen lifestyle as well

And while we're at it I'd like to hear the pitfalls of monogamy too

Oh there are plenty pitfalls no one is arguing that. It really just depends on compatibility between all parties involved. And the more people u add to the mix one would think the harder it is to keep a peaceful household.

If society became dominantly polygamous tho I think there would be a lot more incest in the world. Generation after generation of polygamy would either lead to less available options or the taboo of incest would probably cease.
