Eh, like most kids, you really don't think for yourself. A lot of adults don't even think for yourself. You hear something from what you perceive to be a trustworthy source from an authority figure and you believe it. Whether it's religious dogma or scientific fact.

Critical thinking isn't something you're born with, it's leaned.

I know it's learned...and my dad made sure that was something my brothers and I did...he didn't let our education begin and end with what they taught us in school...and nah I actually never was the type to just believe what I was told from an authority figure...that's part of the reason I left Catholic schools for my last 2 years of high school...I was constantly being kicked out of class, mainly religion class, for questioning certain things or sparking certain debates with my teachers and I ended up on disciplinary probation my entire sophomore year because of it and never got off

the bolded is exactly what natural selection is. so either thru the death of non-lean cod, or females of the species choosing to mate with the lean cod over their non-lean counterparts, non-lean cod's genes are eliminated from the gene pool, thus leading the way for the new generation to almost exclusively be leaner. evolution is nothing more than gearing a species to survive in a given environment. if being fatter, or having fur of a darker colour makes that animal more prone to predation, than they will evolve to be leaner or lighter as a means of survival. evolution doesn't happen for no reason

im sure you know that my post clearly pointed out that that is a technicality. in evolution and true natural selection there are no controlled environments and alterior motives leading to extinction or evolution for that matter. a group of hyenias are not gonna just hunt gazells just to sell them to lions. they wont just kill 50 gazells even tho if they dont sell 35 of them the meat will just go bad. you cant sew a rabbits head onto a ground hog and call it evolution. evolution is like a toad developing a defense mechanism to a natural predator such as a bird. but that bird doesnt just eat or kill all toads on site, hence allowing the process of evolution to happen.

like i said .... damn .... i think they were kinda different back then plus fossils dont tell everything cause it depends on the circumstances of the fossils and how they were formed, and what the actual animal went thru beffore being fossilized. that is a good ass question tho ... somebody else can give you a better answer than me tho LOL

These are examples of some of the oldest species of turtles/crocodiles, so they tend to look different than the more recent ones. What were the names of the species of the fossils you saw in the museums? Were they Triassic era fossils?

The bolded is true, they are species that went extinct. That's another example of evolution; some species within a niche die out and better-equipped species survive.

These are from the Triassic era, which came before the Jurassic era. With the late Triassic and Jurassic eras came "dinosaurs". So short terrestrial crocodiles were probably at a disadvantage when it came to competing with other large reptiles in the same niche.

Not to mention the K-T extinction event; which was rather unfavorable for many of the larger terrestrial reptiles.

I'm always surprised when people say that they just CAN'T believe that humans and other apes are related. Look at them. The faces, the hands, the social behaviors.

To believe in evolution is to hang your hat on findings and analysis that you were not here to even witness for yourself.

So I would say evolution theory is a belief (even though you can theorize about the process based on certain findings and what not..) it is yet and still a theory that you have to believe takes place though you will not live to see it ever take place.

So what many of you claim to be a fact is actually a mere belief in something you cannot prove because YOU DID NOT SEE IT TRANSITION FOR YOURSELF...regardless of findings and analysis.

The same standard evolutionist hold creationist to they have to apply to themselves also

No. In the case of both humans and turtles/crocodiles; the modern species survived while the similar extinct ones died out, even if they evolved from the same common ancestor as the extinct ones.
