that has nothing to do with anything. you are probably the reason they skipped over our planet because there was no sign of intelligent life.

You're daughters and sisters are going to attend that same college, become friends with those aliens and figure out these aliens aren't that bad. There can be a planet just starting out with some form of intelligent life and there can be a planet in which that intelligent life is millions of years ahead of us.

I do think we've been visited by at them, more than one species too. If they wanted us dead, we would be. The fact is, the technology required to travel extremely far distances is high, higher than what we have. Our weapon technology is pretty damn out there and we should expect them to be way more advanced. So if they wanted to kill us, they would've. Biological would seem fitting.

The reason why I say they would have no religion is simple, their evolution into being so highly advanced wouldn't need to rely on a god or gods. Look at most scientists now, they are mainly atheists. What makes you think beings, smarter than our guys, would believe in a god?

i guess it depends on where we rank. there could be other planets with life that is much more valuable to the aliens. maybe they will kill us and they just haven't made it to us yet. to believe in 1 planet with other intelligent life is really no different than believing in an infinite number of such planets. and where we fit in with all that is anyone's guess. we may be the dumbest of the dumb and all the other aliens just skip over us in whatever it is they are doing b/c we have no value. and their religion could be anything. they could worship themselves and their accomplishments. its what the "smart" people of our society tend to do anyway.

This ain't "War of the Worlds" where the common cold wipes out the aliens. While true that something like that could exist and could very well happen, the likelihood that we would get a "nuke from orbit" treatment also exists. They would never have to touch the surface of the planet to wipe us out (i.e. an antimatter bomb, which we can build now but are insanely expensive and would take entirely too long to gather enough antimatter to be of any use)

This isnt anythig but speculation based on nothing. The fact is, we don't know their motive. space travel is interesting to us. But it may not be to them. Aliens are interesting to us, but they may not even give 2 fucks about other life forms. We tend to think of ourselves pretty selfishly when it comes to other life forms and often fail to think like the alien and their view of things.

i don't think its arrogant or short-sighted or anything like that to believe that we are the only form of intelligent life in the universe. I think its a completely reasonable point of view.. Sound judgement doesn't usually deal with things that are imaginary.
