Definitely can't argue with this. Blueprint 3 had some of the worst hooks I've ever heard in my life - Reminder, Venus Vs Mars, Off That, On To The Next One... the list goes on. BP3 was let down by terrible hooks, redundant subject matter and underwhelming production, especially on the three Timbaland tracks.

Distant Relatives can get preachy at times, but no track on that bitch is as awful as Hate & Young Forever. Jay's beat selection is now worse than Nasir's.

Cosign I bought both CDs and I loved bp3 at first then after awhile stopped listening to it. I give it a 3.75/5 cause it has no replay value, jay z has his moments though. Distant relatives is album of the year quality. Gets the 5 mic classic rating for me.

Even so, thats not a reason to overstate how good shit is when it comes out.

Distant Relatives was as good of a conscious album as BP3 was of a commercial album. There were some hits and misses on both.

Yes there is a reason to overstate it because in the sea of forgettable albums and wack artist they still came together and made a GREAT album... Now u dont have to feel it and thats the beauty of Music... And i think something can get rated highly depending on the time it came out... because if everybody was always on a the same level Lil Wayne wouldn't be a memory.... Drake would be on Noggin still.... Maino would be busting Tables..... And any new nigga out now wouldnt exist.....

Off this website who is going to remember this album? Who gave a damn about the last few albums that Nas dropped? No one.BP3 is actually relevant unlike DR and the nerds on this site are only attacking BP3 because Jay is a made man and not a broke has been rapper like Nas.The Reason is just a rest haven for lame people who get laughed at in life for liking corny rappers,so them come here to share their un popular opion and feel good about themselves.

What Im sayin to you is that neither one of them is all that outstanding so neither one of them "deserves to be overrated." The fact that there is a lot of wack music doesnt boost okay music to classic status.

yall callin Distant relatives a classic is just as outlandish as me sayin BP3 is a classic. Because they're not. They are both okay, nothing more, nothing less. Just because one was socially conscious doesnt make it any better. Just like because one is commercial doesnt make it any worse.
