@Ob said she dont wanna see his face for 2 hrs lolol. Man this IS the same chick who wont pick up dread head niggas in the uber tho.

I won't pick up a lot of folks but their hairstyle is never a factor.

Stop cherry picking your replies. You scared to debate your own eyeball...

Because I could care less about this. I only posted in this thread initially cause of the tasteless cancer remark. The movie is important and has significance outside of him. I will support the film without sitting through looking at him in it.

"Birth of a Nation opening amid scandal"

This is a fabricated headline. They just had to attach something to bring him and the movie down. These independent type of movies are the ones to get nominated. Hollywood can't have that. This is the slave story they don't want to talk about.

Not only has he been acquitted years ago, but he was a star in Red Tails, he starred in that love movie Beyond The Lights..... the media has had plenty of opportunity to bring this situation up.. but now is just the perfect time.

He handled this ALMOST as well as this could be handled. I would have answered her questions very directly and not skirt around them shits at all.

ROBIN: Some people feel like you aren't showing any remorse.

NATE: Remorse means showing guilt or regret for doing something wrong. I didn't do anything wrong. I was falsely accused. I was acquitted. I'm sorry that the young lady took her own life, but I'm sorry to the same extent that I would be for ANY person who takes their life. But 'remorse'? That's not something I feel because I don't feel I did anything wrong.

Also, I don't really see what RR did wrong here or how she tried to play him. She didn't ask the nigga to apologize. She asked the nigga why people don't see the kind of remorse from him that they feel they should see. As a journalist, it's her job to ask that question. And it's NP's job to know how to answer it.

She asked the man directly for an apology...

I could go into how what she actually said is fundamentally different than asking 'the man directly for an apology.'. But instead I'll just begin and end with...

...no she didn't.

goes to show with black woman, chris brown beat rihanna. black women still love him, ray rice knocked his wife out. black women say give him another chance.

taye diggs marries and has a nasty divorce with a white woman. black women taunted his marriage and were joyed at the strife of it ending.

at the end of the day with black women, long as a brotha keep it to sistas, they gone ride with him.

I don't excuse rape at all. Rapists deserve to be castrated. That said, it's a lot of situations women put themselves in that are dumb as fuck. Going to a niggas house after 11 and not assuming the nigga is trying to fuck is stupid. Smoking and drinking with a group of niggas and u the only chicks is stupid. I was born and raised in la. I can get shot on any day and it'll be a sad story. I increase my chances of getting shot by stepping out in all blue or all red.

But the re al issue at hand that no one wants to address and that proves a point I've been saying on here for years is women need to stop assuming that straight men and straight women can be platonic friends. That's where yall get shit fucked up. All these situations involve chick's chilling with niggas they thought were friends. I have a dick. U have a pussy. Not saying I'm raping anything because that's not my get down, but I'm not out here trying to be your friend. Understand that shit and don't put yourself in compromising situations

Agreed.

People look at me crazy when i tell i dont think most men and women can be just friends. It takes a crazy amount of self mastery/control to defeat those urges and emotions that all come natural to us. And if you are real deal friends eith someone of the opposite sex, im going to assume yall enjoy each other's company and possible have similar interests. That in itself is a recipe for feelings being caught by one or botb parties...

There needs to be a serious conversation about what rape is and what types of situations to avoid for the possibility of it to occur. Im not talking about violent rape, but cases where the line is blurred and one or both parties might regret what happened. I think thats an issue too.

@leftcoastkev ....I feel that post bruh. I'd express the arrogance of a privileged white person in interviews going forward if I were him. Tell them how silly it is and obviously they don't understand the American justice system. I'd tell em let's move on or were done here. Film is already known worldwide. Y'all seen how they have mixed BLM in the commercial for the movie tho? I was like: BLM wasn't around back then. But I see what they're not trying to do but doing to stir the pot.

I haven't. Can you post a link to the commercial?

Thats some wild shit

Found it!!

White supremacy at work, they digging up a damn near 20yr old case that he was acquitted in to derail this movie. Unfortunately they got some sistas and brothas to take the bait.

Unfortunately I have to agree with this

Homie broke it down perfect. Nigga wants to fuck while she wants to be friends but at the same time take advantage of the privileges being an attractive female brings while hiding behind the we just friends card. (cuz best believe niggas arent letting niggas smoke or drink for free u gotta put in on it lol) The sad but real truth is all these fucked up situations happen because of it.

Yea you can decline anyone you want if you feel uncomfortable. I pick up black men all the time. Don't believe that nonsense. It's some of the teenagers who I refuse because of how they approach and carry themselves.

Niggas is getting these jokes off about OB's Uber driving habits. But shiiiiiiid, I can unequivocally say that I wouldn't even dream of considering thinking about being a fucking uber driver in Chicago. Almost don't even matter who you pick up. Fuck around and catch a stray sitting at a stop light with a 60-year old accountant sitting in the back.

Im sorry if that offended you, Queen. And Im sorry that insult offended you more than a so called black reporter acting as a white supremacist mouthpiece did.

She didn't act as a white supremacist anything. What she did was present him with an opportunity. She asked him to speak to those people who are struggling with the idea of supporting his film because of what they perceive as a lack of empathy on his part. That is the essence of his responses. Guilty or not, he is missing an opportunity to gain a plethora of support just by speaking out about rape, taking responsibility for engaging in risky behavior and having empathy for contributing to an environment that resulted in awful consequences for those involved.

He doesn't have to do any of this. And people don't have to watch his movie. In a vacuum, that sounds all well and good. But he DOES want people to see his film and those people want to hear certain things. That's where it gets complex. Unfortunately, he's not doing a good job of selling the film. He's smug and insufferable. At this point, I would rather watch Charlie Manson play Mandela.

Like i said, blk women been showing out they asses this year..

Just because he was acquitted doesn't mean he was completely blameless for the way that he acted.

You right but they want that white woman to be totally blameless for how she acted and put all that shit on Nate Parker.

Shit ain't and shouldn't go down that way.

An unknown (at the time) black man being acquitted of raping a white women in America?

I can only conclude that the evidence against him must have been extremely flimsy...

I already said I'm still supporting the movie. What else you want? I have to enjoy looking at him? People don't have a right to be bothered by how he's approached these interviews? He has every right to not say anything. He was found Not Guilty. But he's choosing to speak and it has rubbed some people the wrong way.
