50 sold as much as he did because of the music he made, he didn't need the alliance with eminem to sell 8 million, without eminem he still woulda sold.

50 Cent's career was already on a decline so Ross has nothing to do with 50's situation, because it has nothing to do with Ross and more to do with just not being hot like he used to, the music is still there, but his buzz is dead and it's been that way since The Massacre, he left the streets and went straight corporate on nigga's so the streets automatically caters to whoever is holding the streets down. When GRODT came out, 50 was a straight up hoodlum bullying industry/studio rappers, now 50 is the studio rapper that street rappers like Ross pick on. Shit was a promotional move Ross got after that low class interview he did with Truth magazine when he got irritated because the interviewer kept pullin' stupid questions out of his ass about a supposed beef with G-Unit and Ross told him "What beef are u talkin' 'bout man, WTF are u gettin' your info from? We never had no beef with them. They do they thang and we do ours, ain't no kinda beef" Interview goes on and Ross just gettin' more irritated and teaches the dude how to hold an interview and market his brand, "Truth" Magazine. Mind you this was a promo interview before TRILLA dropped so that's where the idea of a beef started and Ross just ran with the shit for promo, just like when he had that beef with T.I. for talkin' slick about Slip-N-Slide artists and he did that studio freestyle and flashed his lil' pistol. T.I. gonna get hotter and Rick Ross gone counter by crowning himself King Of The South. Watch!!!!

I fucks with that Teflon Don, but good production and a million features clearly make this album. You coulda got on those beats wit the guest features he had and made a nice album. Its good music though, I can appreciate it. But Ross was overshadowed on every track. He damn near fucked up Maybach Music III. Just my opinion though

On Columbia, nah. After he was dropped from all the shots, and his voice changed it made him more marketable as a rapper. Now he got the storyline about being shot 9 times. 50 was a very sought after free agent after being dropped even though Murder INC was trying to blackball him at the time.

What 50 needed was the push, and the label that could do that best was Interscope. There's a reason why The Source called them "The Machine". He coulda went to other labels and gotten a huge push as well, such as Def Jam or Atlantic. I don't think he woulda sold 8 mil over at either place, but I wouldn't doubt him doing 4 or 5 mil on his first album. He just would have needed the right producer and 50 has a good ear for beats, or at least he had one back in 03.
