smh.... The League as we know it is done...

first the lockout, and now David Stern is vetoing trades for "basketball reasons"

what specifically are those "basketball reasons"??

Dan Gilbert crying as usual, I mean dude just had the first pick in the draft and he's still crying..

smh.....smfh

First this, then B.Roy retires...

David Stern needs to retire as well, 20+ years as a commissioner is long enough.. time to hang it up..

this is inexusable, now the Hornets ain't gonna get ish when Paul leaves and trust, he's gonna leave just to stick to the NBA..

I wouldn't accept any trade New Orleans has to offer if I were Paul.. The Hornets shouldn't be able to trade Paul at all now.

Saw this

Yahoo Sports : "As for Dan Gilbert email obtained by Y! Sports, timestamp shows he didn't send to Stern until after 10 PM ET. Trade already had been killed."

Thats my point Lol, even if some of these guys are " teaming up "even when they become free agents Guys Like Dan Gilbert think he has a Shot at Chris Paul?? Lol

yea Chris Paul is gonna wait til' free agency to hit the market to go throw on a Cavs Uniform

Amare Last year was suppose to go to Toronto?? Rofl

this shit aint about no "So smaller markets have a chance" , fuck a bunch of superstars look like going to those places and never playing on National TV a bunch, be on on National TV like once or twice a year at best and if they get lucky as a squad sniff a 8th seed

yo it might not be fare to the players, but it's business man. and really when t-mac and vince were playing in T-dot the raptors were getting burn (t.v. shine) even when Camby and d.stoudemire was with the raptors they were getting their shine

i'm sure if howard went to toronto and another big name followed him, they wouldnt care. (the players)

i mean it's the same ish that went down in baseball, where the smaller market fans werent feeling the teams like yankees and sox always being able to pay more...see what the cardinals had to do to get at puols. Dish out more dough then they would normall want to give a player.

its gotta balance out some way or start cutting these teams down.

They Were Drafted , not the same as guys moving on as free agents, or wanting to get out the year leading into free agency

and Vince Cried his way out of Toronto , no different ....

TMac wasn't even a full time starter then either most games he started in a season then were in the 30's

difference between being drafted to a team like that and actually being a superstar and signing to a small market team....not even close to the same..

ya'll going off "If's" im going off Facts' ....ya'll throwing stuff out there like "if Dwight went to toronto" , "If Melo had went to smaller market people would have followed"

thats the point THEY NOT signing there , nothing all that attractive in those areas outside of basketball

really lebron, wade, bosh >cp3, kobe, bynum. the lakers wouldn't have won another championship unless they somehow got dwight and cp3, which would not have had happen. all la had to offer orlando after that trade for paul was bynum, an inconsistent, fragile big man with no heart...

i dont think the lakers wouldve went for the trade if they didnt think something else wouldve happened like getting Howard. i think thats why Dwight is now saying he wants to go to the Nets bc the CP3 trade fell through and whose the next best PG to Chris Paul? Deron Williams

Letting this trade go through would've eventually led to Dwight going to LA.

Which meant no championships ever for Lebron

Dan Gilbert didn't plan this out correctly

OK let me put it to you in a different way, because i'm sure i never implied or never acted like i didnt understand players not wanting to sign with toronto/small market teams.

1. me bring up toronto was just showing that-that area can generate money as long as theirs players to follow. I know the situation in toronto, but hasnt Vince cried himself out of everywhere?

2. like i said or the point of me using the d.howard to toronto, was discussing him stilling being sign and traded, not as a free agent.. They are still under contract so if the magic wanted to trade him to afghanistan, they can. Howard has no say in that, except that he wont sign an extention, but give him another great player to play with, even two and he aint saying ish, am i right?

i.e. see D. Williams and the nets., k.g. to boston Prefect examples as to what i'm saying

players will bitch n moan, but in the end as long as they have other great players around them, they arent gonna bitch and moan.....and that is not including the miserable ones that just like to bitch and moan

again another example c.webber to the sac kings

hated there, nothing to do out there, they started winning with good players and his issues with sac. werent vocal anymore.

At the heart of it....The NBA, as owners of the Hornets, really dont need to give an explanation for declining the trade....personally, I'd love to see it......but Chris Paul is wasting his time tryna file a lawsuit...u cant sue an owner for exercising their rights as owners lol...sure we can speculate that some owners are posing as lobbyists because of the timing with the dissention between players and owners a cpl months back...but a right is a right regardless

what... hell no... Why are former players, analysts, coaches ripping this shit then? They don't love the game?... Steve Kerr said this morning on the radio this is one of the worst things he's ever seen happen in the NBA; he said it's a disgrace

a disgrace that they blocked the trade? Yes! I think we're on the same page...

NBA screwed the Lakers, and the Hornets. Come to think, N.O. got it the worse.

This deal not going through also fucked up Knicks and Celtics. Rondo doesn't feel comfortable being a Celtic, and now Odom is voicing his concerns.
