Yeah a lot of his thoughts mirror mine actually. In a conversation I recently had I talked about the negative effects of integration and how it has caused much fragmentation and confusion amongst us.
One thing I always tell ppl is that i believe American society isn't truly integrated when it comes to deeper and more meaningful connections. It's only "integrated" on the surface level and stops at tolerance and fetishization in most instances. The frivolous interactions as @playmaker88 would say.
I say that to say I have hypothesized that many of us have effectively segregated ourselves mentally while we just tolerate other groups and deal with other groups under well-defined terms with boundaries. But there is some type of stigma attached to the physical manifestation of segregation...obviously because of what it meant in this nation in the past (separate but UNequal). I have a lot of incomplete thoughts on this subject that I need to work out though.

It always pissed me off how Today's Rappers don't Stand for Shit .
...They are Scared of Losing money ,Endorsements and of offending the Next man & would rather be Silent & neutral .
We had songs like "Self Destruction, We're all in the Same Gang" & Other Collaborative songs from the hottest in Rap to speak on Current Issues .
Niggas would rather think it's Corny to Come Together to Create on a Positive topic about your own people but will Collab a Million fucking times to Speak on how Many shooters they got and how easy it is to get another Black man killed .
It's a Guilty pleasure within the Black Community that i think needs to be Shamed Nowadays .
Classic Gucci & Jeezy should stay just that & we should Promote a more Enlightening Agenda in our music .

Knowledge of self is meant to bring a sense of balance ,consciousness and confidence in your life , which ultimately helps you control your temptations and prevents you from indulging into worldly pleasures. There's many examples I could give,but Ill share one. In a capitalistic society that is based upon becoming rich off the esteem of the population, where people purchase things they truly dont need to fill a void within themselves because they have vacant esteem. Through knowledge of self and knowledge power , confidence and esteem is already instilled. A person with knowledge of self wont go out and purchase frivolous things to feel whole, because we already do.
So to say he should sacrifice his pleasures as if youve been living with him to see if has or not is foolish.

I remember they use to do this when I was in elementary/middle school..have us all in the gym sitting down and listening to speakers talk about life...and I actually took some things from those speakers and use that shit now in my adult life...but now they don't even do that shit anymore..
No field trips to the jails.. going to Angola
seeing that shit as a 8 year old and seeing how them dudes would live...the image still is in my head and made me stay far away from going down that path..and hearing them niggas in there saying this aint the place to be..
