Who the fuck pulls the Massacre out to replay in 2013?

That album was forgettable

Candy Shop was weak and yeah I liked a couple songs, but it was a bad album

Dayum I just realized Nas dropped 2 albums in 99, so maybe instead of Juvy, Nas should prolly have it instead.

personally I would pick Nas but I think since the consensus is Nastradamus is wack and I am was disapointing even though neither is true but its probably not even worth arguing Nas in the 99 slot, I would give DMX 98 and 99, EM 2000, 2001 to Jay and 2002 Nas, Stillmatic carried over into 02 and he ended the year on top, plus he was on another smash hit with JLO, "The Essence" with AZ which was nominated for a grammy, there were remixes he was poppin up on that he was killin and then also the classic radio rants, 02 was Nas year

*edit*

I think if "you wont see me tonight" was dropped as a single Nas would of had the best year or at least up there with X and Jay as far as sales, thats one of the biggest mysteries why that song was on the album but not used as a single, would of been bigger than Hate me now or you owe me

I wouldn't classify this as "the best rapper alive" list but a hottest/popular or biggest artist list in a particular year.

1992- Dr Dre

1993- Snoop

1994- Nas

1995- Notorious BIG

1996- Tupac

1997- Puffy

1998- DMX

1999- Jay Z

2000- Eminem

2001- Ja Rule

2002- Nas

2003- 50 Cent

2004- Kanye West

2005- 50 Cent

2006- TI

2007- Lil Wayne

2008- Lil Wayne

2009- Kanye West

2010- Rick Ross

2011- Nicki Minaj

2012- Drake

They basically got it right. I knew what they meant before i even read it: they mean who had the "crown" for each year...they just worded it wrong.

They get props b/c they didnt go on revisionist history: Yes, T.I. did have shyt on lock at 1 point...YES, Jeezy was on top when he first dropped, etc.

This list is accurate imo.

So.. is this list about sales? or the quality of music?..

If it's sales and such, then Warren G, Da Brat and Biggie should be ahead of Nas for 94..

If it's quality, then GFK and Sigel should be top contenders of 00, and Styles and Scarface should be top contenders for 02, and Cube should be the entry for 91..

I kinda understand 97, being that Biggie died in March, but LAD was one the best albums that year (critically and commercially), and he was on No Way Out as well..

Lol @ 2013 though..

Just a few years I would change:

1991-Ice Cube (tho Tribe was doin they thing too)

1999-Juvenile

2002-Nelly (He was EVERYWHERE that year)

2004-Outkast

2005-Kanye

2006-T.I. (should've been his year hands down. He was the only rapper to go Platinum that year)

2012-Kendrick Lamar

2013- They year's not over yet.

1991-cube

1992-cube

1993-dr. Dre

1994-snoop

1997-mase

2001-ja rule

2002-Nas

2004-50 cent

2007-Wayne

2009-drake

2010-drake

2013-drake

Pretty accurate we talking hottest.. 2002 Em had one of the biggest years of any mc in hiphop. Only other person to compete in terms of being as Hot is Nelly.
