Oppression is oppression. To hold your "groups" (and I use the term loosely) past and/or present level of oppression as some sort of measuring stick for what determines another groups legitimacy in proclaiming they're oppressed is arrogant as fuck. And stupid as fuck. Who the fuck takes ownership of oppression and decides where it should be portioned out?

And further more, people have the right to express themselves so long as it doesn't harm others around them mentally and physically. Some times I wonder myself why is who you decided to fuck a big deal and why it shouldn't be kept private....Then I hear countless stories of people coming out of the closet and the subsequent ostracism, contempt, prejudice they face ALMOST OVERNIGHT.

So for those saying, "it shouldn't matter who your fucking. Its not the public business". Your right. It shouldn't matter. SO WHY DOES IT MATTER? Why do people have so much emotion about it?

this is what i'm trying to figure out...it's like there's a group of Black Americans who want to hold the Gold Medal for oppression...to be able to say "nobody in the history of the world has had it worse than us" which is far from true...and if ANY other group even mentions wanting Civil Rights, which is NOT automatically equal to black american civil rights, then it becomes "THey're trying to ride our coattails"

The Black civil rights movement is the most recent and is quite possibly, the most relevant civil rights movement of all time. Most people are still quite aware of it.

Maybe you could make an argument saying that some gays purposely invoke the Blk. Civil Rights movement for propaganda. But id say many genuinely feel a sense of inspiration from it, and feel they're carrying the torch for the continued overall struggle for the equal treatment of humans. Hence why they make the comparison.

And the Jews collectively are the extreme end of what happens when you hold an eternal pity party for your struggle. They've become such privileged douchebags that calling them out on anything collectively gets you looked at sideways. Shit try to mention or compare the holocaust (which they play up as the worst thing to happen ever) and you will get buried.
