I honestly think Common is a top 5 tier rapper if we take a look at subject matter, body of work, growth and craft. I rank him higher than Cube. Don't have an offical top 5 but Nas and Rakim would for sure be numer 1 and 2. Not sure if I would put Common a head of Jigga tho.....what do you guys think?

Sure he was Top 10 on your list but my list has Rakim, Ice Cube, Nas, Tupac, JayZ, Biggie, KRS, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Big Pun, Scarface, Black Thought, Slick Rick, Ghostface, & 3-Stacks so its not as easy to make my Top Ten after dropping an album like 'Electric Circus".

Plus I keep L-Boogie at #11 on G.P.

Common aint in my top 10, but he top 5 for sure. Its a damn shame the way his music in underrated -- his complex ryhmes and poignant ryhmes make him the best rapper to ever come outta da midwest.

resurrection prolly had a bigger effect on me than illmatic. that album is nuts!
im just glad no id and com got back together on this project.
