Maybe I'm outta pocket and no disrespect to the vets here but ain't no soldier ever died for me. I know he can't push it that far but fuck what these niggas talking about

We all gotta choose our own path, soldiers chose theirs. I'm appalled at the arrogance of anybody implying they died and fought for my imaginary freedom.[/b ]

I say that all the time.

A fucking savior complex. Foh with that.

Shit still going on while Josh Brown and Ryan Lochte are eating. Hope everyone is proud. The NFL already said Kap has the right to do it so why is this shit still going? Josh Brown done signed another contract and everybody's quiet but watch what happens if Greg Hardy signs with a team. Fuck this shit man.

It's crazy how this Josh Brown story isn't being talked about at all. dude's wife said he whooped over 20 times and he broke a restraining order.

The temerity and audacity of the Giants' coach who has far more serious issue, with Josh Brown domestic violence, to even fix his mouth to even say anything about disappointment in Kapernick's refusal to stand.
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ppointed-players-sat-anthem-article-1.2770168

But McAdoo clearly doesn’t agree with selective empathy, which is why the Giants coach took a stand in his own right by proclaiming: “I’d be disappointed if one of our guys chose not to stand.”

At the end of the day CK is getting heat because he is speaking on black issues...like someone earlier stated, if he was speaking on gay and lesbian issues. This shit would be silent and he would be hailed as a hero.

So after hearing and reading so many of these comments about Kapernick stance.

Do some of yall still NOT see that the american flag is a symbol of white supremacy?

It's not. It's a symbol of America and America's story. White supremacy is part of America's story. Hell, it's the biggest chapter in the book, but acting like it's the only part of the story is silly. As long as people think in these extreme terms, people will never come to an understanding, and shit will never progress.

Never said it was the only part of the story.

What does the American flag and the national anthem mean and represent to you guys here?

Personally I never felt the reverence for them that'd actually make me upset if someone doesn't view them as sacred.

It don't mean shit to me and never meant shit to me. Upholding the ideals and morals of what this country is supposed to represent is what I care about. That flag and anthem are just propaganda.

I feel the same way.

And now Harrison is trying to apologize and stated that he didn't even know Kaep was mixed.

He's an idiot and needs a course on history....Divide and conquer is what the oppressor use to subjugate the oppressed. I cringe when people with the medium to enact change turn a blind eye to issues.

Lol this shit is all just funny at this point.

Harbaugh, Drew Brees and now Harrison all had to walk back their comments about this when people started checking them.

I would say im happy to be in America more than im proud to be an American. White military loving, gun loving, conservative republican people will never care about that nuance. Its either all in or not with them. Im proud of many things America has done, and i fume in anger at many of the things we have contributed to past and present.

I dont mind standing for the national anthem. Its no big. I got bigger and better shit to focus on then not standing for some ole simple ass patriot song. If someone doesnt want to. I dont care either.

As for the American flag, it represents a lot of things, but i guess id simplify it to being a symbol of freedom, rebellion, and hope. Its represented the worst shit humanity has to offer, and its represented the progress of humans over time once they realize the error in their ways.

My gf and i regularly, like on a weekly basis laugh at people with their american flags all over their cars and front yards here. Like, why do you need a friendly daily reminder. lol. Some people are literally just obsessed with patriotism. Its weird.

I explained who it's not. It's literally a symbol of the USA and everything that entails. If you look at it an just see white supremacy and that's what you feel about America, that's fine. But it's silly to think that everyone will feel that way. I don't care about the flag or even the country all that much, but I'm not going to sit here and act like the only thing I get from America is racist treatment because that's simply not true.

For me it represents the ideals of liberty, freedoms, opportunities, rights & independence, of which our people were deprived of by the state and its policies by the way.

That's why I believe a lot of black people can look at the ideal vs. real practices and chuckle at the contradictions.

Youre smarter than this, right? Thats like saying a pint of some cheap vodka is a symbol of alcoholism, domestic abuse, murder, rape, and violence.

I just cant understand extremism in people. There are SOOOO MANY things to criticize, and brothas is out here focused on the dumb shit.

The flag aint changing, and your life is comparatively good when put next to billions of severely impoverished people around the world. Use your potential in this country to work on solutions to problems, not just crying about bullshit.
