Colin Kaepernick refuses “to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people”...

denial of police brutality and racism.

This reminds me of the movie Jaws. Swimmers kept popping up dead and Chief Brody wanted to hire someone to kill it. But remember how that goofy mayor kept denying the possibility of a shark even though Chief Brody constantly was trying to tell him it was. the mayors responses were always "Well, do you have evidence of a shark? have you seen the shark? It couldve been a simple drowning or a boat propeller? maybe it was the swimmers fault? "

But it wasnt until his own kids were in the water when the next attack happened where he finally had to admit it was a shark and signed the papers for brody to hire someone to kill it.

Its like black people are chief brody and the Mayor is everyone who denies the atrocities going on.

It's like things wont change until that shark starts attacking the mayors family. lol.

@Inglewood_B

1st and foremost thanks for your service!!

You hit the nail right on the head with your statements. People who are talking down on what Kaepernick is bringing awareness about are being hypocrites to the fullest. There is nothing more American than protesting injustice and fighting for equality. Even in the pledge of allegiance it's says Liberty and justice for ALL.

When you point out all the past protest, conflicts, battles, and wars fought for these inalienable rights people try to play dumb and say that's different.

I stay roasting stupid people and their logic when it comes to this topic on a daily also. Keep putting these bigots and idiots in their place. You never know you might actually get a few to see things a little differently and at the very least it's fun exposing their stupidity

Uh oh...the chick who said she was raped by CK 3 years ago dropped rape kit paperwork
https://twitter.com/J_Neese/status/849240130372161536

She didn’t accuse him of rape. She says him and Ricardo Lockette covered for another (unnamed) person who drugged and raped her. And then somehow “blackballed” her (from what?).

Her twitter page has thousands of tweets name dropping Colin but doesn’t name her actual alleged rapist at all.

Just finished reading the article. Dope!!!

Sometimes silence is golden. Kaep has chosen the right way to deal with the evil that has been coming at him.

This is one dope young man. We all should find whatever causes\charity he's a part of and support him.

I wish Kaep nothing but peace and love in everything he does. Bravo!!!

http://thecomeback.com/nfl/papa-johns-non-apology-two-weeks-later.html

Papa John’s tweets non-apology to those who thought NFL comments were “divisive,” two weeks after the fact

Almost two full weeks ago on Nov. 1, executives from the Papa John’s pizza chain went on an earnings conference call and criticized NFL leadership for not stopping players’ protests during the national anthem, blamed those protests for their deteriorating sales, and said they had pulled much of their present NFL advertising in exchange for future ad spots.

Papa John’s was then subsequently and repeatedly dunked on by rival pizza chains, by frozen pizza chains, by reporters who pointed out that the NFL likely wasn’t the problem, and by the internet in general, and they then even had to disavow support from white supremacists. But the controversy had largely died down, until for some reason Tuesday, the chain’s official social media account decided to post a series of tweets discussing their earnings call comments and apologizing “to anyone that thought they were divisive”

What’s worse, making that kind of a non-apology in the first place (it’s not even admitting they did anything wrong, but apologizing if people “thought they were divisive” for making obviously-divisive comments), or waiting two weeks to make it? Either way, it led to the chain again getting repeatedly dunked on

Somehow, it doesn’t seem like this is going to win many back. Worse apologies, worse timing, Papa John’s.

Colin Kaepernick's GQ T-shirt memorializes Samuel DuBose

Mark Curnutte

One of the 11 photographs of Colin Kaepernick in the December issue of GQ Magazine lists the names of 20 unarmed African-American men and women shot and killed by police.

One of those names is Samuel DuBose, gunned down during a traffic stop on a Mount Auburn street in July 2015. Former University of Cincinnati Police officer Ray Tensing, who pulled the trigger, is free after two mistrials. Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters dropped murder and voluntary manslaughter charges against Tensing in July after the second mistrial.

Kaepernick, the former Super Bowl quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, started the kneel-down movement in the 2016 preseason to protest police brutality against African-Americans.

He is without a job and has filed collusion charges against NFL team owners.

"The DuBose family supports Colin Kaepernick and appreciates what he has done," Terina DuBose-Allen, Sam's sister, said Tuesday. "It's not just about Sam. It's about all the other people who aren't even on a T-shirt who have been murdered this way.

"No family member wants to see their loved one's name on a T-shirt because it means your loved one was shot in the head by a police officer. We are not happy that Sam is on a T-shirt."

Kaepernick is being featured in the magazine as its "Citizen of the Year." He continues not to speak publically, but 10 of his confidants spoke to the magazine for a story titled, "Colin Kaepernick will not be silenced."

The T-shirt, titled "Even More Names," was designed by Kerby Jean-Raymond for his brand Pyer Moss. Other names on the shirt include Sandra Bland, Philando Castile and Alton Sterling. It is another in a series of shirts listing shooting victims. The first is called "They Have Names."

Aubrey DuBose, Samuel DuBose's brother, said, "We are grateful for Colin Kaepernick putting it all on the line. It's easy to say you support people. It's another thing to stand up to a powerful institution like the police."

'Racist' gun range billboards in South Jersey should come down, activists say. The range's owner disagrees.

A gun range in Camden County is resisting calls to take down two billboards that activists say aggravate racial tensions and mock NFL players who take a knee during the national anthem.

“It has absolutely nothing to do with race,” said Wesley Aducat, owner of the South Jersey Shooting Club in Winslow Township, which put up one of the billboards several weeks ago near Route 73 in Voorhees Township. The second appears on a digital sign near Routes 73 and 130 in Pennsauken. “It’s just support for our veterans.”

The signs say: “The only time we take a knee…” and show the silhouette of a person shooting a rifle, with the website of the club at the bottom.

Aducat said he supports the right to protest but doesn’t agree with kneeling during the anthem, particularly since many of the club’s members are veterans. He said he has no plans to remove the billboards.

That has upset the NAACP’s Camden County East chapter. It says the signs twist the message of kneeling, which is meant to bring attention to systemic racism and police brutality against people of color.

“We’re talking about police murdering unarmed black people,” NAACP member Keith Benson Sr. said. He called the signs racially divisive and has encouraged people to call the club to complain. “They deserve all the disrespect they’re going to get as a result of putting it up. But they probably thought they were clever. They probably thought they were strong, patriotic Americans.”

Druckenbrod had one word for the billboards: “Racist.”

“We’re living in a very difficult time right now. People are trying to stand up for black and brown people to say, ‘Hey this is not right,'” she said. “That sign really is just mocking the idea of taking a knee.”

The shooting club, which says it is affiliated with the National Rifle Association and requires members to join the NRA, operates along Piney Hollow Road in Winslow, just off the Atlantic City Expressway. (Carmen Console, the club’s membership director, said he had nothing to do with the billboards, despite being named in social media posts as the person to call).

On the club’s Facebook page, people left comments both supporting (“Love the sign on 73!”) and criticizing the signs. One woman wrote, “I’m sure there’s a way to advertise responsible common sense firearm training and use that’s not offensive.”
