Kaepernick supporters assemble at NFL headquarters in solidarity

Seventy-plus Colin Kaepernick backers reportedly huddled in front of NFL headquarters Wednesday, voicing displeasure for the continued unemployment of the former 49ers quarterback.

TMZ reported that the non-profit 100 Suits For 100 Men coordinated a collection of Kaepernick supporters expressing solidarity with the free agent, who reportedly worked out with the Seahawks this week.

The hour-long rally’s mission was said best by Kevin Livingston, the founder and president of the New York City non-profit which helps once-incarcerated people find employment.

“We are going to continue to keep pressure to make sure Colin Kaepernick’s not only finished getting blackballed, but he’s signed to an NFL team,” Livingston told the crowd, according to TMZ.

Earlier this month, Kaepernick donated 50 suits to 100 Suits for 100 Men as part of his ongoing charity efforts.

“We are very honored to have his items donated,” Livingston told Big Apple blog DNAInfo at the time. “He is very humble and he genuinely cares about the community.”

Among those reportedly in attendance Wednesday were former NBA player Etan Thomas and New York state senator James Sanders Jr., as well as family members of slain citizens Eric Garner and Sean Bell.

“We will never dance to your tune. We’re dismissing your songs of doom,” one speaker said. “So guess what? Your desires to destroy us will never, ever stop us.”

Both of these gentleman spoke nothing but the truth.

The funniest/saddest part about all of this is the fact that it's all about money and nothing more with the owners and crazy that so called fans care more about an inanimate object over actual human beings. These Owners and GM's have signed in the past and currently have people who are murders, rapists, woman and drug abusers on rosters and people are up in arms over this man having a peaceful protest about a real issue.

As time goes on, history will show Colin's stance in a more favorable light....those that blackballed him and spoke negative about him will be on the wrong side of history

I couldn't agree more...

In about 20 years, Kaep will become the next revisionist history hero, meaning that people ( including multi-media conglomerates) will try and paint this picture like he enjoyed "mainstream" support. Same way "some" people now claim they were down with Mandela, Angela Davis, MLK, and Ali when in reality, at the height of their influence, all were despised:called traitors, terrorists, uppity n****rs and were persona non-grata...

I'm just glad kaep got his diploma,,

He's a grounded guy who knows life is more than football

Im from reno where kaep played his college ball and he was a hero then and more so when he took San Fran to superbowl... But ever since his "protests his celebrity here has diminished ;; the newspapers didn't cover him as much due to the conflict of interest.

Seriously. Black Folks need to start boycotting the NFL.. Straight up. Won't because you know..................................

I asked the question, will they do this though at least until dude gets hired.

Will black ppl take a stand and speak and say that they won't support the NFL, I'm speaking about the fans, I know the players won't do it but the fans, will they do it? and why not

I boycotted the NFL after the Mike Vick fiasco. They stay clowning the Black athlete and the fans. Dudes talk about FOX news but tune in every Sunday to the NFL on FOX. To each his own I suppose.
