This man made a decision that he knew would get him blackballed from the league. I don't think it's fair to expect other athletes to risk their future potential earnings, nor do I think Kaepernick even holds it against them.

a few million an at what point do you stand up?

At the end of the day these are athletes if they choose to stand up then great. If not it shouldn't be held against them. Not everybody is built for that life.

I think it should be held against them.

if they are stars... who wont hire them?

so it's ok for these niggas to absorb the shine but they are OK to not stand the fukk up?

nah....fukk that

Nigga just 2 weeks ago everybody lit up Dez Bryant for that stupid shit he said...and everybody said "This is why athletes shouldn't be looked to for these issues"...and now you're saying the opposite? Which is it?

dez said shit against a topic that took away from those who created and caused a problem against his very being...he slipoed thru the cracks an tried to say shit doesn't happen.

I blame him and those around him for his poor guidance.

he used his platform wrong.

but at least he used it.

i am sure for every 1 of him there is 2 that can use the platform for good in our community.

dont get ya ass beat today.

I'm on my positive shit, punk

The Breakfast Club & Sway need to get the brother in for a interview.

Can't believe he hasn't been on either show yet

You'd be surprised at how far being black balled can reach. I think it's safe to say that goes triple for Kaeps situation.

He's a real brother, most these cats ain't got the balls(pause) to do what he's done, and get shitted on for peacefully protesting. Homie is likely to never play again and that's fucked up!

Social responsibility of star athletes doesn't come to them simple because they are stars. The added responsibility comes because, most of them are making enormous amounts of money and have connections to resources that the average volunteer or activist just doesn't have.

I agree that anyone despite their fame or finances should give back in a way that best suits them so, long as they give back.

Ain't nobody black balling him from doing interviews. That's a personal decision people make

He's really going all out. I'm curious 2 know what set him off? Police shootings? It's past that knee thing, he's out chea doing it! Tip my hat 2 Kap and will continue to pray 4 his safety. MUNDO PROJECT. Look it up if u can find it on the net. Any1, entertainment, film, political who uses their platform 2 speak 2 us are on a legit hit list. Might make a thread on it 1 day.

Salute Kaep but......

Athletes are a part of the bread and circus, they are here to distract you, few are educated on subjects that matter, they've been coddled since 14, they are anomalies that will end up broke. Change will come from bottom up

I get that athletes have and deserve the freedom to tackle social issues in a way that suits them however, there has to be the fundamental understanding that these issues will often involve a degree of sacrifice.

I've always thought that a lack of unity impedes progress and this was an opportunity for black athletes to demonstrate that!

As expected, not a single white athlete supported Kap or spoke out. Whats even more disappointing is that the very group he is trying to uplift can't show support.

Both Kap and Baldwin received death threats which shows how much society has grown when people speak out for change. At the very least their peers could have shown a level of support.

exactly.....if enough stand up...they can't fire everyone...

be the perfect time to start their own league....

just need the venue an everything else falls into place.

I hate the excuse that they are athletes and we shouldn't listen...

well who the fukk can we listen too?

they have the attention of millions at least 3 times a week.....or 70 games or 16 weeks...

fear is the only thing stopping black progress.....fear and crabs

This is what pissed me off about the Clippers when they had the opportunity to take a stand with the World watching, but no they just turned their uniforms inside out. They weren't even going to be alone because other teams were ready protest with them.

The NBA couldnt fire or whiteball everybody....they had LeBron willing to sit out ...

After that weak shit from the Clippers, the NBA on TNT crew and their coon ass comments about Colin Kapernick's protest, I dont even watch the NBa anymore....stopped watching the NFL too honestly....that's my silent protest

All that distraction shit is bullshit. Like people can't watch sports and still be aware of the state of the world. These "I gotta be woke 24/7" niggas are silly as fuck

Actually a few white athletes did speak out and support Kaep. You had the white girl who plays for team USA soccer kneel for the anthem and I believe q white player on the Pats openly said in multiple interviews, think it was Kyle Long, that more white athletes should be standing behind Kaep as that would drive his point home more.

As for the sacrifice debate yes every thing on this level requires some sacrifice and no matter how someone chooses to show their support publicly you know they will take a public hit in someway.

If it were that easy to just start another league it would've been done years ago
