Weird how Cole's albums have a slow burn to them. Didn't like the last one until the second or third listen. Didn't like this one based on the previews on iTunes. Got Ab-Soul instead. I'll prob end up randomly buying it one day

It's pretty dope to see Cole surpassing our expectations. I remember the days when @usmarin3 used to defend Cole and niggas would go in on him saying Cole would never make it, etc.

I'm going to give the whole album a listen and post my thoughts.

The only folks who Cole succeeded past their expectations are the hatin ass niggas. If you've been listening to him from the beginning you knew he would make it this far. It was only a matter of time. His artist development is proof of this

What made you so sure that he was going to make it this far? I thought he was dope but plenty of artists as good or better than him has slipped through the cracks.

His persistence to make the kind of music he was making to the demographic he was targeting. I knew from time Kendrick, Drake, Wale, Big Sean, J.Cole, KRIT would make it because they're the leaders of this new generation of fans. As much as I dislike Wale I still believe he'll get his platinum plaque and meet his potential.

Don't start this in here bro KRIT is not in this class.

Every mixtape and album is based off of the stage of life he and his peers are experiencing. Cole is creating a catolgue of music that can be listened from beginning to end like one long story of a persons life. FNL was college years...FHD was young adult years....4YEO is adulthood...etc etc So if you're not experiencing those particular situations in your life then of course you not gonna get it.

For me, this album is not where I am at the moment but i know I'm going to be there soon so I appreciate some music that I will be able to relate too. The album is beautiful and hopefully one day y'all understand why.
