Some of it or maybe all had to be generals though

When Ye been the nigga to bite a style musically

Kanye rode the drill wave for a bit (Don't Like)

Kanye showed us Travis Scott flow before ppl knew who Travis Scott was.

Do you guys think he had CyHi write for him back then?

Also Drake can be in this too. He put out songs that sound like The Weeknd, PartyNextDoor, and prob every dude he put on before putting them on. Plus the Migos, Fetty, and 21 Savage features but I feel like who's doing them a favor. Mainstream exposure

He rode the drill wave by hopping on don't like

Stop it slime

He did more for Chief Keef and Chicago by doing that than that shit did anything for him

His next project was Yeezus which sounds like nothing else and the furthest thing from drill

You tried to use that against Ye and then said Drake is giving them niggas a look in the very same post

I don't even know what Travis Scott flow is

niggas just be repeating shit they hear from Charlemagne(s)

It's so rare to find an individualized opinion

Niggas always knew Ye didn't write all his own shit tho

Na, I remember Kanye sayin some shit like, he got nice because Kweli or Mos def or one of them in-scent rappers taught him how to rap. It's never been mainstream knowledge like Dre or Puff. Niggas thought they was gettin Kanye's rhymes when you got a Kanye album, there was even a time when Kanye's bars were discussed as top 10 on this very forum.

Kanye lyrical content took a back seat to his need of extravagant presentation of the lyrical content. Maybe to him, he doesn't mind having Cudi and Cyhi at a round table lyrically crafting a song like "All of the Lights" because what they can't do is present it to the masses on the genius level like he can. They can't masterfully blend 9 artist voices from diff genres into a melodic harmony for background vocals or give you unparallel visuals to match. Kanye wanting a fashion line wasn't just like the other rappers who got offered a deal....Kanye was preparing for this moment of when he'll be honored for more than Lyricist of the Year, He wants to be known for changing how we experience the culture.

***And yes I do know that Cudi nor Cyhi wrote on that song.

Niggas was saying it wasn't a diss way before Charlamage made that tweet bruh

I wasn't speaking to that, just speaking in general

I'm not discrediting whatever Cyhi or Travis may have contributed to Ye but niggas spout shit like this freely but couldn't point to one example or one thing they know for sure these niggas contributed

It ain't just with Ye, it's within music and everything

Niggas repeat the same talking points to the point where you can tell niggas ain't being genuine...sometimes it's aight to just not have the answers or not understand

Some niggas don't think and see the world the same way you do

Fuck I'm jumping topics like my idol...somebody reading this understood

Nah I knew early Rhymefest was writing for him on CD but maybe that's because I'm from the same city. What I meant was that for years nigga have known Ye was getting help, at least his last 3 albums, and Cole was still fuckin with Ye like everybody else. So when he says come to find out niggas don't write, I take that as Cole speaking on something more recent. That specific line is more than likely a reference to Drake. And it ain't the first time him or Kendrick have mentioned it since that came out about dude. If I was having comparable success to a nigga but I'm writing my own bars and he getting help, I would feel a way about this nigga being put on the same level as me too. He should just say the nigga name and get shit started though.

Looking forward to this album.

As far as the Kendrick and Cole debate - Kendrick has Cole beat in a photo finish. He's a step ahead of Cole because of his creativity and story telling skills on GKMC & TPAB.

And like someone said before - If Kendrick announced a surprise album next Wednesday or Thursday night, Cole's new project would be an afterthought. Don't get me wrong, people will still buy it, but Kendrick would have most of the attention on Thursday night.

Drake should not even be in the conversation when it comes to real lyricists like Cole and Kendrick.

yeah you sound stupid they would praised and played jointly pepole have time to listen to more than 1 album at a time stop the fuckery

Of course they both would praised and listened to. But one would get more attention over the other.

So you're saying a Janelle Monae album would have the same attention as a Beyoncé album on the same night ???

Dude.. you sound stupid.

Wait wait this motherfuckas just say jCole is janele mone? Man fog for janele ain't never even go gold

2. You never here janelle monae and Beyoncé in the same sentence

3. Cole and Kendrick are always brought up in the same sentence for a reason they are neck and neck

Log the fuck off

Fuck outta here. GKMC and Section 80 are dope. TPAB is miracle lyrical bullshit that had little to no replay value. The reason cole is better than kendrick is he has bars but his message can reach everyone from a college kid to a street nigga to a chick chillen with you in the whip. Modern Kendrick tries too hard to be lyrical like in holy key.

Lost with this revolt to mumble rap is understanding over the top lyricism doesn't mean your content is better and recent kendrick is proof of that. Cole music is more about real shit in a straightforward fashion.

I understand if you didnt get the TPAB album. But that album to me is superb. Its mature, lyrically top notch, and i cant wait to hear what Kendrick has next.

Man Cole basically said the shit about Wale I been saying for years! Stop worrying about shit and just make music. Thats what holding Wale back. Wale is still in that rut that Cole was in when Cole was creating Sideline Story. Wale just never pulled himself out of that hole. He stay chasing radio... Wale has the potential (sad to say we still talking about this) to be right there with Cole and Kendrick. EASILY.

And thats where they put the nail in their own coffin. Certain artists piss me off when they do the radio friendly, pop type shit just to please these labels instead of keepin it real and from the heart. When its from the heart its authentic, its pure. But they want to impress their masters. Smfh. Salute to Cole
