remember when Cole came out and folks said he would never be a big artist like Drake or Kendrick.....I remember

He's not.

Drake has a wider audience but Cole is easily bigger than Kendrick. If you went to any Forest Hills Drive concert you would have seen that. That nigga Cole was getting 20 to 30K outdoor theater venues sold out on the east coast. He sold out MSG and the Staples Center and everything in between in 2015. Kendrick couldn't do that.

And on top of that in 2014 he dropped an album out of the blue and the fans copped it in high volumes to where it was a top music album seller in just 1 month of December sales. Cole has a movement. His fans are loyal and i have seen it grow from my first college Cole show in 2010 to his last FHD tour stop in my City in 2015.

The songs posted use the beats from Lyrics to Go by Tribe and Waves by Joey Bada$$...

Same samples softer different drums on Tribe but False Prophets sounds like the same beat with some added stuff...

Watching the documentary right now

"Who knows when you get to this height or this level in your career whos to say the next one wont go down. You never guaranteed to be this high again. So while I'm here let me use this opportunity to say the realest shit I have said"

Hyped af for this

No i'm not. If you think cole is on the level of a drake, you're either misinformed, a super stan, or not too intelligent.

Can't wait! Now all we need is Nas and Jay-Z to drop albums and the year is complete.

Jay not gon block cole's shine like that..... Hate to break it to you, but a cole album announcement basically eliminates a Jay album for a while at least.

4 your eyez only..... I know why he spelled eyez like that, and I know why he lookin at young black boys on the cover. Ya'll better get ready. He bout to be on some shit.

enlighten me, nh.

Cole ain't ever misspelled a word in his album title, so when he does it this time, it's jumps right out at me who he's echoing. The whole cover jumps out at me as if to say, I'm turnin my back on ya'll, I gotta talk to the lil homies. It's art, so it's all up for interpretation, but that's what I get from it.

I've never been excited for a J cole album because I be thinkin his subject matter is too young, but I think he's going to grow up this album, and it's going to be a lil more millitant than what i'm used to hearing. I'm pre ordering on Itunes as soon as I get home.

My intuition is never wrong by the way, we'll see when we get the tracklist.

How about you wait to hear the songs. Can't tell shit from a tracklist other than song titles and guest features

I knew Compton was wack when I saw the tracklisting and features. Magna Carter too.

He spelled all song titles on Forest Hill Drive with a Z. Pac is his favorite rapper. This isn't new.

How do you define "level" here? Sales? Critical reception? Quality of the music?

Cause the only thing Drake has over Cole is hits and mainstream recognition and thats because Drake makes pop music half the time

In terms of rap and ability as a MC Drake is not seeing Cole and never will

I'd imagine this was a decent barometer of popularity.

He's not.... No doubt, but my initial argument is how big of a draw he is. I never said anything about quality. I just said he didn't move the needle as much. I'm not lying either.

Rn Cole is bigger than kendrick

Yea, I gave up Kendrick at least being even, but i'm not even sure about that. Drake, hell no, I ain't goin. He on another level movement wise.
