"I know you tired so, I wonder how I can help

I get the basket and grab your clothes out the dryer, oh I wanna fold clothes for you I wanna fold clothes for you I wanna make you feel good

Baby I wanna do the right thing, Feels so much better than the wrong thing

I said I wanna fold clothes for you I wanna make you feel good

Baby I wanna do the right thing, Feels so much better than the wrong thing

I wanna fold clothes for you

Listen, this is a meditation for me A practice of being present

There's no where I need to be, except right here with you, Except right here with you

Foldin' clothes... watching Netflix Catching up on our shows, eating breakfast Raisin Bran in my bowl with bananas and some almond milk

I never thought I'd see the day I'm drinking almond milk"

After second listen I'm still not fucking with it. I think because I just heard Gambino's album all week it set a pace I wanted to keep going.

First listen of Coles album is meh, I can't find any sign of Mos Defs album anywhere. This Friday is turning out to be a bust yo.

Ok I'm gonna take this back. It's not "meh", it's just not at all what I expected. I'm liking it a lot more on 2nd listen having dropped my expectations.

I actually kinda had the same hunch that was mentioned earlier in the thread that this might be a social/political commentary album from Cole, talking about police, Trump etc, along with rapping his ass off and shitting on wack rappers and the industry. I thought it was gonna be Cole on the offensive. It's actually mostly a mellow, personal album.

Halfway through 2nd listen, Change and Neighbors is classic Cole. Gotta listen more but sonically this feels like a sort of continuation of FHD, but not quite as good as FHD. And too much Jermaine singing. Nigga can't sing. Also I think he could've put Everybody Gotta Die on the album, I might just add it. I can do without False Prophets, Joey Badass Waves is better anyway. Aight no more thoughts until I listen more but word to @TheRicanKing post.... its growing on me.

"I I never thought I'd see the day I'm drinking almond milk/ I wanna fold clothes for you" is Drake level softness lmao idk if can get jiggy with that shit

That shit is hilarious because right after he talks about niggas always acting tough. He said that for that very reason.

He not talking about a random chick he talking about his lady.

Now I ain't folding clothes cuz I hate that shit but I get the premise. But I forgot this the IC where hard on hoes is the movement and women should only be used for their various holes lmao.

Ok, has it been discussed whose POV he's rapping from on the majority of the album?

Outside of "folding clothes" and the last verse of "4 your eyez only" he's rapping from the perspective of his friend who was killed. IMO.

I get the premise

I even fold my own wifeys clothes

But i waited 2yrs to find out Cole dedicated 10% his album to rappin about doing laundry & eating Raisin Bran :/

...literally doing laundry

That's what I thought. I kinda thought Foldin Clothes was included in tha narrative though.

Pretty obvious to me its a concept album. Hes rappin every track from the characters POV.

If its a friend in real life or not idk.

Maybe its his friend from 03 Adolescense off FHD who sold dope

I was thinking the same thing, not sure tho, same with "deja vu" , it could be from a situation he knew his homie went through. But the other tracks for sure are from his homie's pov.
