What I got from this album is he is paranoid he will die soon. He been talking about this since Jermaine Interlude earlier this year. Gotta be a unpleasant feeling to feel that. Hopefully it's not true

On first listen this album serves its purpose. Which is to make a album his album and expand on his growth. My only vice was more of a political song from him. Overall great emotional album from first listen, can't even imagine how afraid I'll be whenever I get my first child.

Reading comments sounds like the whole album is actually from his dead homie perspective. Makes better sense

Cole tryin to sound like PAC on some tracks. I dig the album. I had higher expectations so it's a bit of a let down but I can't complain. Only song I can do without is Foldin Clothes. Not for its content, it's just a meh song.

Deja Vu sounds like classic mixtape Cole.

pretty much agree with this, the growth is there but not enough, would have definitely like to have seen him taking on some serious issues with what's been going on over there recently.

Kinda underwhelmed with this on first listen, will probably grow on me but it isn't seeing FHD, just lacking the couple of standout tracks that album had....'change' is quality though.

Ab-souls album impressed me a lot more, dude kept on coming with the bars like a man possessed.

This is why people say Cole put them to sleep. Nigga is talented and can rap but his shit is missing something. I dont get it. Nigga is way too calm, maybe its a charisma thing.

I thought with his plat singles and the success of FHD we'd dead this argument

What does sales have to do with charisma? For the record I've never been one to say these things about him but I understand where ppl are coming from.

Sales and charisma are linked. Ppl would purchase music from somebody who lacks "charisma" None of unu can explain how if he's boring with no charisma how he's able to sell so much in this climate

Off first listen it's aight.

There isn't a song I dislike, at the same time there's not a record I love.

The story of the album is dope tho, the songs though are just all cool to me.

I didn't say he had no charisma, I think dude is just kinda stuck in his lane and most of his music sounds the same which is fine cause it's obviously working for him. This album didn't sound much diff than his other projects imo. I don't see how someone could become a new fan of J Cole from this joint.

Listened to most of the album on my drive to work, thought it was aight airing on the boring side. When I got to the job and put my headphones in it became a lot better. After hearing the last track and understanding the album concept makes me want to relisten, through headphones only though

Just finished my first listen. Loving the tone of the project. My first listen I usually just take in the vibe. Check for the beats, hooks and flow.

Is my head noddin or not? Answer: Yes.

About to re-listen now to really process the lyrical content. I suppose after a second or third full listen I can give a proper review.

I'm getting a 'meh' feedback from y'all regarding the album...

Hmmmmmmm....

Soulo's shit might be my weekend groove then B)
