rappers r villified so that wall of text was for nothing...

By whom? Defintely not by the majority of the black.community, honestly i hate to say.that because it goes so much deeperbut i dont really feel like typing a titabgraph

Ignore spelling im on his cheap ass phone

Whites have most niggas brainwashed. Ever since this Zimmerman shit I have seen all types of blacks get on tv talking bout we need to look at ourselves but I have yet to see one white person get on tv and say hey, maybe we do stereotype blacks and need to change our ways. Its like we are abused lovers of white people and everytime they hit us we look in the mirror and say maybe we deserved it instead of looking at the person who hit us

And for the record whites dont hate us because of the way we talk, walk, dress, or act it is because we are black the same crackers saying all this will still not give you a job even if you didnt fit any of those stereotypes. I had a white bitch at a job interview ask me if I was going to come into work saggin even though I was not dressed like that, but the white dude who interviewed before me came in with cut off jeans and shirt untucked and everything was all good

ok this is the thing about rappers... when lil wayne says " I wish I could fuck every girl in the world" he aint say every black one... rappers always talk about fuckin other races of women too..

When we mention that we should take a deep look at ourselves it isn't to improve white people's narrative about us. It is to improve ourselves for ourselves. It's evident that we as black people find it impossible to look at self improvement without bringing whites into the equation. This is why when someone brings up a point that pertains to us, you'll hear the classic "well whites do it too" argument. As if two wrongs ever equated to a right.

By constantly referencing the "ways" of white people anytime a flaw is pointed out you have in fact placed white people as the archetype of what is considered the norm and acceptable. The social ills that plague our community are of no benefit to us as a people. We shouldn't desire to change ourselves to be accepted by whites. We should want to change ourselves because it will benefit us in the long run.

As a collective whole we should be thinking independently of white America. And if America in general is headed in a downward spiral of social decadence we should be fighting to change the tide with our people first and foremost.

This is the main reason i stopped responding in this thread...it's sickening to read the deflection our people take when we're criticizing our own. They keep on referencing that whites have flaws too etc etc...we don't give a fuck about them!

Bruh you have to see through the lines. They get at you eventually. They are using the thuggs and wack rappers to justify what they think about you.

he stated to us multiple times that, "if this doesn't apply to you, don't worry about it".

which means he wasn't talking about ALL black folks.

but that's why his points were bullshit. if he knows all, or hell even most, black people aren't ratchet miscreants then wtf was the point of that segment? why go through all that just to talk to a small minority of an already small minority? & to do it while talking in stereotypes no less...

This discussion has nothing to do with blaming white people or rappers the conditions seen in the poor black hoods are a result of the so called talented tenth not fulfilling their responsibility to the rest of the black community.

Is that ideology still around after all these years?

I have been out of the loop for a minute and I see this thread has really done numbers. It appears that the general consensus around here is that Don Lemon is a coon and Bill O'Reilly is an old racist. I'm neither going to add to these assertions or deconstruct them. However, if both men were critiqued on their opinions alone I don't think any rational person could find what they said any more offensive than what is recited in some of these rap songs. Shouldn't the rappers who constantly put forth lyrics that degrade black women and perpetuate black death be vilified by us as well? Should we not call out the ratchet black women on Love and HipHop and basketball wives who breathe fresh air into old stereotypes? Should we not call out the television show Scandal, in which a black women plays the stereotypical "bed wench" for some white man? Good enough to fuck but never to marry. Are these individuals not moon shine, buck dancing "coons" as well?

I know these are all example from the entertainment industry but based on some of the responses, a lot of you aren't upset at what Don Lemon actually said. You guys upset that he said it on CNN in front a predominately white audience. A lot of us disliked it only because it perpetuated the negative stereotypes that many whites have about us. But considering the various depictions of us engaging in debauchery already, I doubt what he said had much effect.

I can take this point even further by pointing out the politicians who use our votes to get in office but are quick to dismiss any of our concerns when they get in office. Or what about the preachers who can build a mega million dollar church in the middle of the hood surrounded by abandon houses and buildings. What about the young bastard sons of single mothers who shoot up a neighborhood striking the innocent five year old playing on his bicycle? Are they not coons? Are the not sellouts?

Don Lemon may be a pompous coon but what is put forth by the very same people we embraced is far more harmful to our image as a people than anything he can say.

I have not read any posts in here but i can gurantee this is the releast post in here and all the black people bitching will not read it.

props to you sir @Ioniz3dSPIRITZ

Don lemon lacks critical thinking skills as well and most of white america.

lol at you flagging me. Black people do lack critical thinking skills and this is a FACT. We all know what crack and other drugs did to the black communities yet you have people of power in the black community glorifying selling using drugs everyday. I see people bitch about how the drug laws are tough but yet black people cannot stop selling the shit

We all know a single parent cannot raise a child but yet these black women keep having children with these trashy guys. it's like touching fire when you know it burns

black people are one of the most religious groups in the us yet we dont follow the bible even though we go to church every sunday

I was raised in a single parent home, well my father was always around but I am a god so I know everything so....

And you talking about drug dealing and your name is half a brick, lookie at who lacks critical thinking skills themselves. Pot and Kettle meet.
