I can't wait for the day that somethin wipes out files from computers all over the world. Niggas gonna be mad as fuck while CD owners sit back and laugh.

this. I'm too paranoid about a glitch in the matrix taking out all my music to be only digital. Now that CDs are about as cheap as an itunes album, i choose the physical CD usually.

so yall got all your digital music backed up or is it RIP for your whole music collection the day you spill a cup of coffee on your laptop?

Lmfao, and how soon do you see this happening? So, I can be prepared.

Sound quality on a CD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sound quality on a crushed mp3 file

most people cant tell the diff unless its def a degraded mp3 file 128 kbps or less

files on itunes are "suppose" to be high quality 320kbps .....

Listen to album like kanye west late registration on CD than mp3 there is a big difference in sound quality with all of the instruments in the background.

Coppin music at the store was an experience. It was fun rollin a blunt, hot boxin the car with the homies and hittin the record store. Trying to pull a lick and a bitch at the same time.

The 90's looked fun. I swear coming up in the 2000's is wack as fuck.

@BKOx, yeah man I remember Fat Beats, my homie was in that record club back in the mid 90's

That what's up. I knew there were two flagship Fabeats record stores. One in Los Angeles and the other one in lower Manhattan before they got closed. Fatbeats and Beat Street records in Brooklyn were my favorite places to go in the 90's. I regret missing fatbeats going away party. Talib Kweli, Skyzoo, Jean Grae, and a lot of underground rap artists were there.

We still got some stores like that here, Grammaphone Records,HI-FI Records, Dr Wax,George's Music Room, Hyde Park Record Shop, Peabody's and The Beat Parlor to name a few, they actually have tables set up in the back of the store in Gramma Phone and anybody can get up there and spin, it be a line of people waiting to get they turn.

And I just came outside from lunch, it's nice as fuck, might not be dropping those pics after work after all, going home, grab a 4 pack of Beck's and hit the beach lol

CDs are pointless. I got a 64 GB flash drive in my car with my whole music collection. Why would I want to lug around 300+ cds. On top of that, I can't even remember the last time I just sat and listened to a cd. Most of the time I just put my music on shuffle and get to hear a little bit of everything.

& you jus kinda made a point I was gonna make (was gonna make a thread but opted out)

but there's an advantage to buyin cd's over d/ling, as far as listening to the album is concerned

cuz more times than not when folks d/l it's illegally so they ain't payin, therefor they're more likely to skim thru the album

as opposed to when you go the store, buy the album.. take it home, rip the plastic off.. get that new cd smell, take the booklet out & skim it.. then pop the disc in & listen to each song (cuz when you pay for it, you're more inclined to) as you read the credits for each track.. then the thank you's & so on & so forth lol

but there's also an advantage to havin 100+ albums in your pocket.. guess I jus love the nostalgia of cd's *Kanye shrug*

real shit, allstar lil brother

i bumped the entire 500 degreez, bang or ball, young and thuggin, and i got that work albums because i bought them shits

i ain't finna pay for this shit and then just skim thru it

yall putting a little too much on the expience of buying a tape ... i say hey #1 its cheaper most albums digitally sell @ $10 ... plus im saving gas$$$$ which is a major thing these days with our high gas prices ... and honestly i dont think ive ever ran into a hot chick @ the record store ... altho if i hit up the one in the mall i would run into sometihng before i get back to the car ...... but shiiiiiiiittttttttttt i got 5k+ hoes on facebook .... another 5k on my daily work and liesure time ............. that experience is overated imo lol aggree to disagree ..........................
