damn.... we all have our eras that we love huh?

i like that late 70's early 80's shit.

hassan like that late 60's to mid 70's shit...

and menace likes that prohibition era shit...

Man you silly as hell, lmao. I like all that shit. I got a ton of 80's shit too, I told I was going to the park last night, got fucked up off Heinikens and vodka lol. I took those real quick this morning

I used to be on that 9-12 midnight shift. Thursday night was the dusties show and we had one Thursday a night between 4 dj's, we used to always try to outdo each other. We all played different type shit tho. My show and these cats that came a week before me used to play all original albums where samples came from. The last 30 minutes of my show I used to play the break of a record and mix in the hip hop track as well then play the whole original song. On James Brown 1 year death anniversary we did 12 hours of James Brown songs and we did'nt repeat not one song.

One thing I can say I learned about digging and spinning on the radio, it's some wild, weird shit out here. The average person don't know what's being put on records out here. Niggas think hip hop is big, shit, it's some crazy ass shit out here. I see album covers that will blow your mind, just on some WTF type shit

Where does your love for those likee those (meaning, ie, Sinatra, Billy Joel etc.) come from? Your parents? Did you just discover them dolo or what?

Or do you just like them to be all different so you can claim you have knowledge of real music or whatever (no diss, serious q)? Be honest.

Weather you a CD nigga a MP3 nigga or even a vynl nigga it pays to look for this shit on the ebays and amazons im telling you. I know some of yall grew up in that era where there was a dope record store and shit but those days are over. Like people been saying you can cop CD's on amazon old or new for cheap prices. If you want the non bootleg for an affordable price amazon be having classic and current albums on sale for 1.99 2.99 and 3.99 at certain times. I got GKMC and KRIT's first album both for 2.99 and 1.99 respectively in mp3 format.

My dad was more of a tupac/NWA/doc/Rakim/Snoop kinda guy he listened to some Motown and Billy and Bruce

My mom was a 112/2pac/Natedogg/Toni braxtion and Mariah Carey type

I discovered all this oldies music in the mid 90s my dad used to play some billy joel and my granpda was into Stevie wonder/Marvin/Sinatra and alot of other oldies basically all of Motown .

I actually do enjoy that music I don't force myself to listen to it to be different I listen to it cause it sounds good to me.

Damn, this topic blew up. I say it pretty much proves that CDs are obsolete. Everyone in here talking about CDs are talking about collecting them. That's cool and all, but from a practical standpoint, it's meaningless. I'm a fan of the music not the medium. I don't need to go home sit on my bed with my legs crossed and look at a bunch of album art. That shit is pointless. That said, I'm not really a collector of anything so I probably just can't relate to whatever joy you get from doing that.

Meh, same way some dudes cop "J''s and have them in a box sitting in closet, it's all good tho, dapz TL Monk

Listen to music however you like. Whatever you like. the switch from tapes/vinyl to cd was analog to digital. Cds and mp3s are both digital. Cds will be around because they are the physical form of the current format. Some people prefer something concrete they can hold. And you can turn them into mp3s and still keep them. Win win.

I've had one pair of Jordans in my entire life, and I got them shits on sale at the Nike outlet 3 years after they came out, so clearly I'm not one of those dudes. I'll agree that obsessions with shoes are stupider than collecting cds. That's some female shit honestly.

Man I feel ya, the only Jordans I ever had was the first pair in like 86. Never had a pair since then. And they re-issue cd's as well, hell they even re-issue Vinyl. Records become collectible when a record label is no longer in print and its a few copies of a particular album by a certain artist

Maybe I should repost my shit and also post my Superior Home Stereo System.

To all the collectors. What kind of stereo systems y'all rocking yo.

I seen most of y'all collection in @icecoldstew collection thread but I haven't seen y'all post your stereo systems. We can have all kinds of CD's but I know that y'all know that a good stereo system compliments your CD, cassette, and vinyl collection.

I'm not talking about no wack ass ipod. That shit is for amateurs and people on the go

I'm talking about some grown man shit.

Stereo systems like:

Denon

Yahama

Bose

McIntosh

Onkyo

Amps, pre amps, receivers, 5.1 & 7.1 digital surround sound, etc.... You know stuff that professionals talk about

Lets really talk about what's really good, son.
