As a Falcon fan, I hope they draft Luck. He won't be a threat for at least 2 years and they will basically be rebuilding (again). If they're smart, they'll stack their Defense and trade Steve Smith.

Gotta give the new Qb some weapons though, but Smith would be only chip, unless they trade down but thats not happening.

its a tough situation. they've obviously thrown clausen to the wolves this year in hopes of him becoming a more ready starter. but that may be irrelevant to whoever the new coach is. I'd love for them to get Luck, he's a sure thing of a prospect as there has been in a while, at least thats what the scouts say. But we have so many other gaping holes on the defensive line and WR. thats why i wouldn't be upset if they somehow were able to keep that pick and possibly pick up another pick in the first or early 2nd if they decide to trade stewart or steve smith. i also wouldn't be surprised to see them shopping chris gamble in the offseason. either way, they need to pick up some extra picks b/c after picking number 1, they wont pick again until the 3rd round.

That's why I don't believe in drafting pocket QBs high in the 1st round (I didn't even like the Falcons drafting Matt Ryan, but signing Turner helped.). Pocket QBs need too much around them to be good.

1. They need money (pocket QBs = highest paid players)
2. NEED a above average O-line
3. NEED a good running game.
4. NEED a good offensive scheme and coaching staff.
5. NEED good receivers.

If you don't have at least 3 out of those 5, you're gonna be rebuilding for a good 3-4 years before you win anything.

and if this year showed anything, its that it doesn't matter who carolina has under center, that offensive line wasn't protecting anyone. now grant it, starter Jeff Otah missed the season and they never found a good enough starter to play right guard

Finally we done somethin right. If you gonna be bad might as well be worse. We have a lot of holes but if we get Luck the running game still there we need a DL in the 2nd

Yea since the SB season we been just out of the playoffs and we needed a good pick. The Delhomme thing was bad, Peppers leaving and Davis getting hurt really did it

They need to move Smith and Deangelo Williams while they still have value i can see the redskins looking into both of those players and both are worth at least 3rd round picks. Its time for them to rebuild

Sorry Cam not #1 pick worthy

I agree, but the combine is where the "kool-aid" is handed out. Vick earned his #1 pick status at the combine, not @ Virginia Tech. Same for QBs like Matt Ryan (#2 overall), Stafford, etc.

You think theyd really be willing to move him? That'll be a damn shame. After that squeelers game he looked like the only sure piece

Go with Luck with the first pick

They honestly owe it to Steve Smith to trade him to a better organization, no point in him finishing his career in a rebuilding process...maybe they can work out another pick for him with the Patriots since they have like 19 picks saved up

Sounds like a good idea....

lol at Carolina being the first to sip that Cammy Cam Juice

If we take that piece of shit I will be finding a new team. I hope he rips his achilles tendon at the combine.

Neither of those guys are gonna get you a 1st or 2nd round pick most likely. Holmes was traded for a 5th round pick, and he's a young #1 receiver for a team. Marshall was traded for a 2nd round pick, and he's a young elite receiver. Smith is old and has already come out and said he doesn't wanna hafta be the #1 receiver anymore. So there's not much trade value there. And Stewart hasn't done enough to be traded for a 1st or 2nd round pick. Running backs are too easy to find to give up a high draft pick for one.

Draft Luck. I don't want to see Newton in this division. That would be too great in terms of QB's. Freeman, Ryan, and Brees. That's the NFC Pro Bowl for the next 6 years.
