shop boyz

Mike Jones was wack but he did make an impact albeit a smidge on hiphop. At one point, you couldn't go anywhere without hearing someone shout, "Mike Jones, Who? Mike Jones".

^ and now.....

What relevance is that? MC Hammer had a huge impact and so did Vanilla Ice but where the fuck are they now? I am not saying his impact was positive or even big but Mike Jones did have an impact for sure.

It depends on what you mean by impact. Fame doesn't equal impact. Just like fame/record sales doesn't mean you're rich or successful. Honestly, I wouldn't say some of these dudes didn't have impact, or don't have impact. Trust me, they do. They have a whole other demograhphic they touch, that y'all don't care look at. Better yet, some of you need to stop acting like nobody listens to some of the rappers y'all were naming. They are listening. The world is much bigger than your little spec of vision.

And y'all wonder why Hip Hop is in such a jacked up state. Look at the kind of Hip Hop fans y'all are. This is why I like Europe when it comes to Hip Hop. They actually appreciate the talent and the good music. They aren't worried about if the rest of the world likes it. And the funny thing is, all the rappers with "impact" aren't doing any better than the dudes y'all are naming on your lil list. Anyway, the dudes y'all name dropping in this thread are going to be around a long time. They're contributing something much more helpful to the culture than just impact.

They are the true survivers in Hip Hop. They're going to mean something much more. The sad part is, I'm a female, and I probably know more about Hip Hop than y'all do.
