It's very annoying. Especially when they just start reaching for it and don't ask.

See that's the s*** that gets me. Lol.

They ask "Ooo can I touch your hair"...after they already got their hands in said persons hair.

Was talking to a chick the other day at my club and some drunk white bitch came from behind her no prompt and tried that shit. I checked her tho.

Its like touching a brillo pad, whats the big deal?

A lot of white folks aren't around people wit different texture of hair.

So when they see it, some of them light up and got to see what it feels like.

Why do black people get offended by the curiosity?

I think its more of a historical racial undertone to it

I've always correlated it to them treating us like an animal at a zoo. It's the inspection and fetish-like fascination that reminds me of slave auctions and inspections.

We're all humans yet that "fascination" with our hair means they think it's not just hair but some new material. Historically they've treated us like animals which doesn't help when it seems like they're carrying on tradition now when they ask that.

I remember when my grandmother was in the nursing home & my aunt's friend was there. This white lady walked passed us & said to her "I love your hair. Can I touch it?". I was looking like

Let me clarify my post. When I said people reach out and touch my hair, its about 80% black women. No body else really cares. I don't mind.

Had my locs for 2 years been natural for 4

They may stare or give me a compliment...but no white ppl as of yet have asked to touch my hair...

Ppl say I look mean so I dunno lol

And ppl have negative misconceptions about locs

Blk women, on the other hand, it's a different story..

I don't mind though. They are looking to loc their hair 90% of the time though. It's beautiful seeing so many blk ppl embrace their natural texture

Usually only happens if I have braids in.

The one I hear more is- so is it true black people don't wash their hair everyday? Why? Isn't that dirty? smh

on the cruise i was jus on, on two different occassions bitches asked to touch my beard and another a bitch was jus bold and told me my shit was beautiful as she rubbed it. smmfh

shit was torture..

i had to be on my best damn behavior. lol & smmfh
