Clothes can be gotten for free too. Steal them like you steal music. What is so fucking difficult to understand about that? That's basically what people are doing right.....stealing? How does this idea sound;

If you buy a CD at the store you get a PIN number on your receipt that matches your debit card (or something like that) and the PIN number lets you download an album of your choice for free. That way you'd get two albums for the price of one and you still support the artist.

Its kind of a compromise.

INB4 somebody says "Why not just download both albums for free?"

Right and the same niggas that can get movies for free will go out to see the latest movie in theaters. The same cats that can download a video game would instead go BUY it. But music is where they feel like they can't pay for it.

Of course if I can get a house for free I wouldn't go pay for one.

Part of the problem is how disposable rap and hip-hop is these days. A song will be hot one month and gone the next. I haven't bought any rap albums in a while, but I've bought several non-rap cds. and not even new stuff, older stuff. I can buy a Marvin Gaye greatest hits and feel like I spent my $10 wisely compared to buying the latest 2chainz album and feeling sick of it after a couple months.

Cam doesn't specifically make music for teenagers, he was just saying the kids don't buy music anymore and that's it.

I see where the young kids are coming from, because I would never buy an album or song from itunes when I can simply download the same exact quality of album for free. I will however buy the hard copy of the actual disc (if the artist delivers a worthy product) because for one, the quality sounds better IMO, and I feel like I'm getting an artistic piece of value with the disc, the cover, the booklet etc.

I really don't see a problem with people not buying music for the fuck of it anymore. It should persuade these artists to step their quality of music up and/or their live show performance. Too bad it seems like a lot of them are taking the fast food route and making an album full of singles or club music so they can get spins SMH.

Virus from illegal downloads are real bruh. The issue is that the artists from hip hop made the music disposable. Whether bad artists gaining credibility, or over saturation with mixtapes. You look at other genres and artists are selling records despite access to spotify, and torrents. THATS THE WHY. Not because "if it's free why pay for it". I knew mad niggas from my hood that never bought an album. But stayed getting the latest games, and clothes etc.
