ok, was Hank walking by the end of last season? For some reason I still remembered him in a wheel chair, not moving about with a cane.

no. lol. he was still in the wheelchair and kneckbrace in the last episode and wasn't ever shown walking. i think he may have stood up a few times and walked a few steps when that black physical therapist came over

yooooo i saw him explain this scene on Kimmel. the FX crew were gonna use wires and shit to pull that big-ass pizza onto the roof but he wound up doing it for real perfectly on the first take hahahahaha that's fucking amazing

i wonder if the way the premier started off is foreshadowing the last episode of the first 8 episodes, and what he uses the gun for wraps up/gets into how it all ends.

not much of a spoiler, just hints from the cast/crew

But have we seen Walt (Cranston) at his worst? "He may get worse, yet," Gilligan said, later adding that this season is all about winning and what it means to stay on top. "Walter has found a new power, and it’s his ego," Cranston said.

That doesn't bode well for his relationships, something Gunn echoed when talking about Skyler (Anna Gunn). "She wants to protect her family, and if that's at the cost of her relationship with Walt, then that's what she's going to do."

"This entire season is just creepy. Unsettling," Paul said.

Part of the unsettling factor? Delving into the aftermath of Gus Fring being gone and the German company that bankrolled him. Madrigal, Gus' bankroll, will be playing a big part this season of "Breaking Bad," and there will be a lot of German subtitles according to Gilligan. Lydia (Laura Fraser), a former associate of Gus, will also play a role this season.

Another new face? Jesse Plemons' new character, Todd, is "incredibly important," according to Gilligan.

From the Breaking Bad podcast

- Vince kinda took responsibility for splitting up the season. If they did all 16 episodes at once, he wouldn't have been able to go in the editing room. He says "I don't give a shit, I'm spoiled" and calls himself a control freak. Previous seasons took two weeks to break stories, this season they're taking three weeks in order to get things perfect.

- They're under an "unprecedented amount of security" this year. Not letting out any screeners. Only way to watch footage is in the editing room, then it goes back in a safe. Vince is the only one who gets to take episodes home and even those have a huge watermark in the middle.

- Vince wants to do a Mythbusters/Breaking Bad crossover episode where they'd bust or confirm things like the magnets and the hydrofluoric acid in the bathtub.

- Denny's scenes are not product placement, they receive no money to shoot there. Writers thought it'd be "funny somehow" to have meetings at Denny's. Same Denny's as the S4 premiere.

- Future Walt scene was Cranston's real hair, filmed on very first day. Vince confirmed the scene will be revisited at some point.

- Vince wanted to do another take with the bacon where Walt would form a "53" instead of 52. Just to have options. But it would take too long since they'd have to film multiple takes/angles etc.

- With the M60 the writers asked themselves what gun would Scarface use? The writers discussed having a grenade launcher on it like Scarface. But this gun is bigger than the M16, same model gun that Rambo used.

- There was 53 visual effects shot in this episode, more than double what they normally do. "Good luck finding them".

- Actor who played Ted was wearing a bald cap.

- Used a real life police precinct and officers.

- 5x02 was written by Vince, directed by Michelle MacLaren. Small tease: "you're gonna hear a lot of German"

- The writers roughly planned all sixteen episodes, but things happen that "threw everything into chaos". They already planned some big tentpole moments for the final eight but there's still a lot they don't know/will figure out.

I thought he was bagging up everything to throw it away. Not just sit in his trunk as evidence. As the episode was going on I didn't think about it, but I assumed he got rid of it off camera. If not I hope they show him disposing of it.

yeah, i guess it could mean he disposed of it. but i just got the impression that he kept it. could be wrong.

the ricin is def. gonna come into play since saul still has it. Jesse will somehow see it/hear about it, then get the whole story. wouldn't even be surpirsed if Mike and Jesse eventually turned on walt.

also, (read with caution) there is a MAJOR SPOILER floating around that

by episode 7, Walt strangles Skyler

I don't believe that though

the lady who plays skyler is credited for the whole season so if she got killed during the first half it would be kinda weird to just show the 2nd half with flashbacks or whatever.
