"Got into some trouble with some corner boys" -Chalky......or Omar???

Nice reference to The Wire.

Should've had Butchie play the part that Lou Gossett's playing.

Then again, that might've been too much.

Chalky my nigga but he escaped death about 4 times the last few episodes

I hope he makes it past this season but now lucky is that nigga

This was, imo, the perfect episode as the precursor for the showdown thats about to happen next week. where last week's episode was intense and relentless, this week's is more moody and atmospheric. with some of the best camera work and cinematography ive seen for a show next to breaking bad

So we see chalky and daughter on the run from the failed assassination attempt set up by narcisse. but we later find them settling in havre de grace (where the episode gets its name) at the house of a man by the name of oscar. who is allegedly suppose to be chalky's old mentor. he says he was someone who "taught him all he knows". the strength of his eyesight seemed to have debilitated over time due to old age. on the other hand, what hadn't seemed to deteriorate was his keen wisdom. he told chalky to not trust anyone. including daughter. in fact he told him to cut her off. chalky on the other hand was thinking of running off with her. well it seems oscar was right in the end because the next day she was nowhere to be found. which also happened to perfectly coincide with the time of narcisse's men arriving to take him out. gunfire was exchanged that eventually hit oscar. which was a shame because oscar was a character played to perfection by louis gossett jr. but we see chalky next week heading back to AC to settle scores. cant wait for that

meanwhile nucky receives a call and is tipped off by there being a skunk in his cellar by gaston means. obviously he's referring to knox as they were cutting deals with each other in the past. but before means can sell that info to him, he's arrested by the capitol police for perjury. nucky at first pays it no mind. but then he starts to speculate as to what that might mean. i mean we all know how much of a weak ass nigga eli is, but its unbeknownst to nucky (at least for right now) that his brother is an informant to the agent. i dont know maybe he's thinking he crossed him once so he wont do it again? whatever the case maybe, knox told eli to gather all of the figures involved in the operation to have a sit down about keeping the peace. so eli advises nucky to do just that. however i think those speculations turned to concerns when eli's wife mentioned a "blue eyed insurance agent" visiting the house and his response to that. and later, i think what really drove home the fact that the skunk in the cellar may be his own brother is when he brought up eli's 8th grade crush to him. remember when he told willie the one thing to get him riled up was to mention her. so he brought up the poem again just to see what his reaction would be. when he saw it was an unusual one, i think the lights finally started to go off in his head. which is why at the end of the episode, he told sally he wanted out.

And i dont wanna say i told u so but........well fuck it i will say it. i cant take all the credit because there were already theories floating around about roy's true identity. but all the dots connected in my head. i mean it couldnt just be a coincidence about when they first met the couple at the onyx club and they happened to be from the same exact city as roger. and also just knowing what kind of show this is, many characters (if any at all) never witness happy endings. esp. one for a character like gillian knowing all of the things she's done in the past. but even in spite of all that, the setup and the events that lead to the reveal was just cold blooded. i mean she's battling over the custody of tommy, someone who is perhaps the only indivdual that keeps her pragmatic and levelheaded. and the only thing that she can still hold on to that still has some feasible connection to jimmy. she visited him personally only to be turned around by harrow. but her final farewall was giving tommy jimmy's dogtags. then aside from tommy, she thinks she found her match made in heaven by discovering roy. he then tells her he wants to marry her and move to some majestic location. she now thinks she's found the peace of mind she was looking for in her life after losing tommy. but that all soon came to a screeching halt when roy reveals himself as an undercover agent working with leander that just got her to confess to murder. that entire scene where she tried to escape was shot beautifully (no atl)

man what a roller coast erride of a season this has been. what started off as a slow burner in the beginning accelerated from 0-60 these past few episodes. now it seems like it will reach an apex left in gunsmoke for the season finale. so many ways this can pan out. i also read that they shot more than one season finale that featured alternate endings just so it couldnt be revealed to the public. a nigga cant wait. and when it airs, i will be dressed in a suit, tie, and pin stripe slacks with a glass of whiskey
